Someday I wish to float the river through the entire Grand Canyon. Having been unable to do that, so far, by foot was the way I've seen it, twice now. How amazing the views of the canyon from the rim are but so inadequate to convey the scope of the chasm nor were they sufficient to impress its geography upon... More

What an amazing trip, the views are excellent. We hiked down in July and it was so hot!! But the views made it worth it.

Indian Gardens' campsites offer a nice shade, serenity and seclusion after a good days hike. Running water and outhouses were a welcome bonus.

My husband, Mother-in-Law, Stepson, and self took this bucket list trip as a farewell to my Father-In-Law. I have to say that the Tour West Company and people were absolutely amazing! If there was any miscommunication or confusion on our behalf they jumped right in to solve the problem. If there was a place my mother-in-law (in her early 70's)... More

Apparently only 1% of visitors to the Grand Canyon make it to the bottom of the canyon, which is too bad. The views from down there are quite different than the views from the rim and are truly awe inspiring. Be aware that aside from reception on Plateau Point and the area above it you will not have cell phone... More

If you want to get away from it all and lose cell phone service, go deep into the canyon! You won't regret it. You get to see views unable to visualize from the top. Be sure to wear supportive shoes or hiking boots, bring water and wear sunscreen and a hat. You must be in good shape to do so.... More

The inner canyon is a special place of solitude. It takes some effort to get there but one is rewarded with the beauty of the soaring canyon walls, the Colorado River, Bright Angel Creek, the very narrow zig zag of the North Kaibab trail through "The Box", Ribbon Falls, views to the North and South Rims and so much more....... We went down South Kaibab trail, stayed at Phantom Ranch and came back up Bright Angel trail. The views were AMAZING!! Please HIKE SMART! Take twice as much food and water as you think you need, YOU WILL NEED IT. There is water at Phantom Ranch and Indian Garden year round, provided the lines are working, the top two rest... More

Only about less than 1% of the 5+ million people that visit the rim of the canyon ever venture to the river or Phantom Ranch. You don't know what your missing if you don't go "Down"

The hikes of the Inner Canyon is very different from the hikes up on the South or North Rims or the trails going down from the Rims into the Canyon. I spent two nights at Phantom Ranch and then had the afternoon of the first day and the whole of the second day for the Inner Canyon. You have to... More
