A great place to see a variety of wildlife. Bring bear spray Preston Park is definetly a very active area for bear. This is a great hike for all levels of hikers. For the more adventurous types get Blake Passmore's book and climb Mount Siyeh. It's a classic

To start, I'm not a huge fun of heights and shear cliff drop offs so this trail was perfect for me. Although you get to about 8,000ft, there are no shear drop offs at all. At the end of the hike, there is a steep slope but I never felt uncomfortable on the trail at all. The trail starts at... More

This is a switchback between Logan Pass and St Marys. There are beautiful views from above and below.

One of my favorite hikes in GNP. Start at the siyeh pass junction and end at the gorge for amazing views once you hike over the mountain. It's not a hard hike, but try to choose a less windy day, as the winds get very strong, and take extra layers of clothing!

This challenging hike - almost 10.5 miles, more than two thousand feet of elevation gain, about 3,000 feet of elevation loss, three bear sightings, and a hail storm - was an exciting (though sometimes anxiety-producing) adventure. Don't forget your bear spray, and have it at the ready. (In your backpack is not "at the ready.") Also, be prepared for sudden... More

We did this hike after the Highline Trail and Grinnell Glacier Trail. I had modest expectations which were blown away! We parked at the Sunrift Gorge parking lot and shuttled to the Siyeh Pass stop. The first bit of the hike is wooded, but eventually you make it to the saddle and are rewarded with views of another beautiful valley.... More

Never in my life have I seen such beauty and felt so close to the clouds. This is a long hike from the road - about 10 miles) and 2000feet climbing. Be well prepared for this hike - lots and lots of water, snacks, hiking poles and BEAR spray. You are in Grizzly Country here and warnings are all over.... More

Saw some bighorn sheep nearby. A required stop on the Going to the Sun Road. Stop, look, and listen.

This is a great hike, wildflowers galore, a small lake and a swift creek. One giant warning, the bugs are fierce! Take DEET and use it. We had to cut our hike short because we got attacked by mosquitoes, luckily we had face nets, but we had lots of bites.

Loved this hike, even in the rain. Highly recommend to those who love a longer day hike. Beautiful scenery, alpine meadows, and not as crowded as some of the other hikes in West Glacier. It was windy and chilly, so pack the appropriate clothing.
