When the status of highway MT49 changed to reopened, it was time for me to head east. Spring along the Northern Rocky Mountain Front is a sight to behold. The trees are leafing out, the grasses are lush green, and there’s still lots of snow...More

I join in all the other rhapsodies of praise. We were at Swiftcurrent Lake for only an hour but could not take our eyes from it. Crystalline, still water, without people activities ruining the tranquility. Majestic mountains and glaciers. Timeless. The president of the Great...More

We almost didn't visit this area of the park but so many people we talked to said we had to go so we did. The whole park is amazing but I don't have the words to describe this area. The lodge setting on the lake...More

We only spent one hour at the lake, but it was absolutely beautiful! It must be the perfect spot for a honeymoon. The nature is unbelievable pretty and you feel so close to nature. We almost ran into a black bear with our car, so...More

What a gorgeous place! Start with the lodge and just explore the area. If you came prepared, the boat ramp is across the lake to the west. There is so much to see here, but the lake steals the show! We took the kayaks out...More

We stayed at the Many Glaciers hotel and took walks around the lake plus a tour in their tour boat. There are many oppotunities to take picyures and see wildlife all around the lake

Trailhead starts at Swiftcurrent Motor inn parking lot. It is easy walking with not much gradient. It's Bear Country & better carry the spray. Lake is very nice & enjoyed the serenity.

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
We have two members of our party that want to take the boat trip. However knee problems cause us to wonder if the walk from Swift current to Josephine would be a concern? Mostly flat would be OK. Would the walk have to be at a quick pace to meet the Josephine boat or take their time a catch the next one? I know this is a hard question to answer, as it pertains to their walking capabilities but any thoughts and insight would be appreciated. Thank you. RR
