This scenic lake is more remote and less visited than Bowman Lake because of the length of bad access road that leads to it.

Beautful relaxing lake, rough drive

Went up here on the first day we were in Glacier. The drive was rough so make sure you car is in good shape for it. Beautiful lake and nice and relaxing. Not a lot of people.

I'm not going to say much about the breathtaking beauty of this place because just like everything in GNP, it's stunning. But I want to dispel a few myths on this page. I suppose the definition of "terrible" when it comes to roads is subjective but I have to say this road was fine for an unpaved off-the-beaten-track road. In... More

worth the drive. if you want to camp here, come very early and wait until someone leaves. It stayed full the whole time we were in Glacier.

One of the most amazing places I have ever seen, very hard to find. Once you get to Bowman Lake, everyone you encounter will discourage you from going there. Road is hard to navigate, 90% of the folks will turn around. It's that way by design. Once we got in, we stayed for 7 days. I couldn't bring myself to... More

Many other lakes beat this one. Pretty, as are all the Glacier lakes. But not spectacular. Fishing was horrible, and no wildlife. With all the other attractions available to you in this part of the country, this one is as I said, a waste of time.

This lake is a rocky( worse then gravel) long road. We didn't hike in the area so it wasn't worth the drive. Bowman lake was just as pretty and less then half the drive.

If you like camping and solitude it doesn't get much better than Kintla lake (unless you want to throw on a pack and hike into the backcountry?). Sure the road is long and slow, but once you get there, 12 campsites, tucked in the corner by the lake. If you can secure a site to the right side as you... More

We went here because we were told by the ranger that this is a place not to busy from tourist so we will be able to see wild animals, not true, we didn't have any luck. The roasts car braking and takes you 1 hour to do 14 miles once you enter again in the glacier park. The lake is... More

The road to Kintla is not for the faint of heart; 38 miles of single track dirt road. Once you get there the campground is very small, so be prepared for competition. Oh, and let's not forget to mention the mosquitoes there are MILLIONS of them. All that said, it is paddlers paradise. The lake is crystal clear even if... More

This 20 plus dirve is a challenge. The road is often one lane of very uneven gravel and dirt. The scenery on the way is breathtaking. saw lots of wildlife and a wide variety of terrain on the way. the lake itself is very isolated and the campground there very primitive and small. Worth the trip if you have the... More
