I have spent lots of time in Glacier National Park. This was my first trip to the NW corner of the park. It is now my favorite part of the park. The only issue is people drive to fast on the 1-1/2 car width road....More

The campground is next to clear, frigid lakes, around which it's fun to hike. I swam in one of the lakes; it was incredibly cold, but I could see the my feet in depths past my shoulders. However, there are no glaciers or ice bergs...More

We stopped at Polebridge Mercantile and the asked what might be a cool but remote spot to check out. Bowman Lake did not disappoint! The six mile dirt road to the Lake was adventurous and it was so peaceful and remote it didn't feel real....More

Reading the reviews of the road one would think that it was a treacherous drive full of large rocks and ruts. Even the ranger was doubtful about me driving my Prius since it sits low to the ground. But I drove all this way from...More

Bowman Lake is tucked away on the west side of Glacier and is well worth the drive. Secluded from the traffic and masses, this lake offers a beautiful beach, access to kayaking and canoeing and a campground. It's a rustic location with running water and...More

I think you can with a permit. When we were there, several overnight campers were there and parked. They had windshield permits though. We were just there for the day.
