While the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center may be considered the park's main introduction, we found this to be as complete as we needed. Helpful rangers, nice displays, lots of information for experiencing the park.

A must see if you're going down this far. Take the Anhinga Trail. It has tons of wildlife but easy to walk. Not too long either. We went in February so the mosquitoes weren't too bad. But they're still there. Also, be aware of the vultures in the parking lot. Apparently they damage cars. Use the tarps provided or take... More

Royal Palm is located just past the main park entrance west of Homestead and is a great spot to see wildlife. We visited on our last day in the Everglades. Throughout the park, and especially at Royal Palm, black vultures may attack cars and try to remove windshield wipers and weather stripping. The park service provides tarps and bungee cords... More

Although we didn't see any vultures eating rubber off of cars we didn't want to take our chances so we used a tarp and bungee cords, provided free of cost, to cover our rental car. Others didn't use tarps and their cars seemed fine. The visitors' center is small but nice. The first time we were there the bathrooms were... More

The visitor center has good information about the Everglades. The trail is not as interesting as Anhinga.

The boardwalk system provided easy access to the wildlife areas. The variety of wildlife was amazing and the educational resources were helpful to learn more of the area and its history. Bring your camera and take your time to observe quietly.

Highly recommend to busy this visitor center before you head out to various trail or entrance. Everglades is huge, numerous entrance and stops, far away from each other. This visitor center has all the information you need to know to plan your visit.
