We visited this park and what a fun time this was. Being seniors, we used our famous National Park Pass and got in free. We immediately decided to take the tram ride. We are not brave enough to bike or walk that near gators and maybe who knows what else that crawls. Many people were either hiking or riding bikes... More

The family rented bikes at the visitor center and rode up the trail. We saw alligators immediately and they were only a few feet off the trail. Of course we stopped at the first alligator we saw, and the second, and the third.. May i recommend that you not stop at the first few because there are sooooo many that... More

By far the best place to see alligators by your feet. Take a bike or rent one, you wont regret it. Went with friends and family and we all had a great time. Nature at its best.

If you are tired of biking in the same old places, take your bikes to Shark Valley. Forget that you will be biking next to cocodriles, and youll see so many birds that will make you realize you ar eignorwnt, the feeling of open air and safety in the middle of the Everglades is overwhelming. The whole route is over... More

We had such a great time getting to view alligators so close. We went in April so there were baby alligators everywhere. We got there late so we didn't rent bikes and no one was up for the 7 mile each way hike. So we didn't make it to the observation tower, but we hiked down a ways and got... More

As a cyclist and Floridian, I've been here many times but not for the last 8-10 years. 2 weeks ago we met up with some friends from other parts of FL to ride the loop. When I pulled up to the entrance and the ranger said "Twenty-five dollars, please", I was shocked. I realize this is a sanctuary and maybe... More

We got up bright and early so we could get to Shark Valley around 8:30, when they start renting bicycles ($9/hour/bike, which came out to about $140 for our family of 4). The bike ride IN THE MORNING is very nice. We saw about 180 alligators along the way and then climbed the observation tower for a nice look around.... More

The shark valley entrance is not as great as the other entrances. They have huge parking issues we waited in the car queue for 45 min before we could get into the park. They will not create parking on the side or the grass so it's not well organized. It's limited parking. They will not let you enter the park... More

BEWARE the bike ride... It was great, etc., BUT - We were advised to go anti-clockwise, in order to see in advance the trams coming in the other direction. The trail by the water is great - birds, turtles, alligators. So far so good. But after the observation tower (just under half way) the trail climbs gently through saw grass... More
