Really nice trail in authentic old Florida. Really scary at night, it's so dark but fun as long as you have a flashlight.

We did the Anhinga Trail (also at the Royal Palm Visitor Center) early in the morning, then drove all the way in and backtracked through the other stops, returning here for this trail in the mid-afternoon. And this trail was like a jungle, very much unlike the boardwalk just a few yards away. Worthwhile.

Fun and unique nature! Easy to navigate asphalt trail with nicely labeled trees and occurrences. Seems like you are remote yet not a difficult hike!

If visiting the Anhinga Trail this is a good place to visit on a hot day. Gumbo Limbo is a shaded trail and cooler than the open Anhinga Trail. The observant walkerr can spot the linguus snails that are often seen in the area.

Gumbo Limbo trail is a nice, short walk through the forest but nothing spectacular. If you are there to visit Anhinga Trail (definitely worth a visit) you should take the Gumbo Limbo trail too since they are right next to one another. Bring bug spray!

This is a short trail that takes you through an interior hammock. Nice dense forest and plaques along the way to read about this unique vegetation. There can be mosquitos so come prepared. The trail is paved and it is about .4 miles. Worth visiting.

This trail is conveniently located at Royal Palm Visitor Centre, so there is plenty of parking as well as restrooms and water fountains. It's an easy, flat paved trail of 0.4 mi/600 m. We visited around 10:30am on a Monday in March, and it was completely empty - we were the only people on the trail. At first, we walked... More

We enjoyed this trail, it was an easy walk for anyone to enjoy. We were insect repellant, but still received many bites. Make sure you are very thorough!

We explored this trail after walking the Anhinga Trail, and it was a nice change of pace. The trail goes back into the woods, so it is cooler, but with the added shade came a bunch of hungry bugs, so wear bug spray. The trees are really pretty and it seemed like everywhere you looked there was something interesting. Even... More
