We took the boat from there. you have everything you need: bathrooms, a cafe, a little shop. Sometimes, around there you can see manatees in the marina. We did not unfortunately but we saw alligators taking the sun close to the parking lot!

While recovery from the damage of Hurricanes Katrina and Wilma in 2005 is underway to some degree, the visitor center appeared thrown together. Informative rangers did their best but in our opinion this is not where you want to try to learn a lot about the park. This is good for local knowledge for hikes and places immediate to the... More

Scenic views and a nice little cafe/restaurant. The food was excellent and the views great. It is a long drive to get, make sure you have plenty of gas. There is a small gas station, but the gas was over $5.00 a gallon.

It's a little old and weathered, but the visitor center at Flamingo provides some unforgettable views out onto Florida Bay.

I'm really disappointed. The waiter was very friendly and sympathetic to the uncountable mosquitos. But, the screened area is not bug free in any way. They have "coils" out, though I am not sure of their effectiveness. Hard to think of food when you are on the Mosquito's Menu. We placed our order from the small menu and sat back... More

Great for learning. Lots of tours and educational stuff. They have boat rides. Nice place but looking old.

While I did not spend much time in the visitor center, the area is beautiful! Yes, there are mosquitoes so bring the spray but the area is beautiful and so is the drive in! We saw three manatees from the docks! There is a small store that sells just about everything including sandwiches and such so it is easy to... More

Good general information about park and provided directions. Park Guard was not the friendliest but he was helpful. Personnel at the entrance were more friendly and gracious. Guard at Visitors Center was preoccupied with raising flag. Personnel at Flamingo center were great but boat trip (not run by National Parks) was disappointing. Perhaps September is not good time for birds... More

Long drive, old building, badly done information boards and a map. Mosquitos love it here but you won't.

While traveling through Everglades National Park, we decided to go all the way to Flamingo. I had not visited since I was little and the hotel on the property still existed. (It has since been destroyed by hurricanes and was never re-built) The property appeared dilapidated and was empty with the exception of a few cars in the marina parking... More
