The visitor center area took a tremendous hit from the hurricane. I spoke with one of the rangers & he said things are slowly recovering. It doesn’t look like the visitor center will be fully functional anytime soon. The store only has basic supplies &...More

Closed due to Hurricane Irma, even though this was six weeks after. Most of the park and the trails were closed, and this wasn't advertised upon entrance.

The Visitors Center received major hurricane damage so we did not spend much time there as the smell of mold was horrible. Lots of the buildings are closed due to damage. We did get to see an American Crocodile...our first. Sadly nor alligators or manatees.

The recent hurricane messed up this campground; 2/3 of it is closed off. However at the nearby marina we saw two crocodiles so that was good. Campground has hook ups and showers but the showers are solar heated and I never got warm water.

still subdued with visitor centre and other attractions (no food, drinks or rest rooms) still closed post Irma. For all that, we enjoyed a hot mid December day, watching manatees and crocodiles. Life goes on in this beautiful natural treasure.

We visited Everglades National Park on Nov. 2. This Visitor Center is at the end of the park road, right on the water. However, due to damage from Hurricane Irma, none of the facilities are open to the public. The road is open to get...More
