    Great easy hike with kids
We didn't have much time in the park and our kids wouldn't have been up for a big hike in the heat. We got lucky as it was late in the day and cloudy, if not this hike would have been full sun except for the shade shacks. It was a nice easy 0.8 mi walk on boardwalk. We didn't see a ton of wildlife, but enough that kids were entertained...gator, turtle and prehistoric looking cricket.

My favorite experience in the Keys!
This is a very easy trail that is accessible to everyone. Much of it is boardwalk out over the water. Be patient and keep your eyes open. We saw an alligator and many different birds...the purple gallinules are so fun to watch as they make their way over the lily pads!

    For the Birds
We saw a variety of birds along with alligators, turtles, fish, and flowers. It was a short trail with an elevated board walk. The Park Volunteer was very informative. Do not pass by this stop along your drive into the park. There are good bathroom facilities and water fountains at the trailhead parking.

    Amazing trail!
Amazing trail! We saw more wildlife on this short trail than the rest of our entire trip! Everywhere we turned something was flying, swimming, crawling or fishing right nearby, my family and I loved it. Great for wildlife photographers as well!

Is so cool that you can walk everywhere, is not very long, at the beginning we did not see any alligator but they are all hidden around, you need to be patient if at the beginning you do not see any, we saw 2 after a while and lots of birds :)

We saw many species of birds and fish, as well as two alligators here. With only a few hours to spend exploring the Everglades, this trail was easily accessible and perfect to see diverse wildlife.

Easily accessible wooden boardwalk with plenty of birds and other wildlife if you keep your eyes and ears open. This is a loop trail over a marshy area with plenty of viewing spots.
