A beautiful place full of history and activity given the small size of the island. A great way to disconnect (no WIFI or phone service) for a day. Snorkeling, soaking in the sun, walking the moat, exploring the fort, or floating in the gorgeous water....More

While it's no easy trick getting to it, that actually is part of its charm. You can go by catamaran or seaplane. In either case, you're in for a treat to peace, quiet, and nature's beautiful work. Absolutely love this place!

This was absolutely amazing! We took the Yankee Freedom ferry and spent the day snorkeling and exploring the fort. We saw several sea turtles and even had a 6' nurse shark swim under us while we were snorkeling. Our 10yo completed the scavenger hunt and...More

I got the best pictures of the trip on the Yankee Freedom on our walk around the moat of Fort Jefferson. It was amazing the fish and the many different types of coral that you see from the moat. The water was very very clear.
