As always the visitors center is a great place to start your trip inside Denali National Park. There is plenty to see and do here as well as a nice gift shop. I enjoyed the movie about life in the park.

We experienced a rare cloudless day with 75degree temperatures. We saw amazing amounts of wildlife... ptarmigan, caribou, trumpeter swans, grizzlies, Dall sheep, jeerhawk, marmot, and several birds I don't know the name of

Clean, informative, great place to hang around until the bus ride starts. The cafeteria had good food and the gift shop was fun. The displays and movie were well presented.

Even if you're not into museums, you should take the time to visit and learn a bit about the inhabitants of this area, human and animal.

There are many visitors centers in Denali and they all have their own stamps so if you are collecting National Parks Passport stamps be sure to stop and get yours here. They also have a special stamp for the 100th anniversary of Denali.

You can take any of the NPS buses from the Wilderness Access Center (WAC) to whichever stop along the route you would like and enjoy a day hike, assuming you have a ticket as some of the buses sell out. The cost depends on... More
