The dogs are great and the ranger's presentation was enjoyable. I really enjoyed being able to see the dogs up close and actually being able to pet them and interact with them. It was summer, so no snow, but the dogs demonstrate by pulling a...More

I absolutely loved the sled dog demonstration. The dogs are unbelievable, the handlers are so good to the dogs. I was surprised by how tall and big the sled dogs are, and you can get up close and pet most of the dogs. They had...More

This was one of my son's highlight of our trip. Before the presentation get there ahead of time, because you can pet the dogs. The presentation was great as well--very informative about the history of sled dogs and the park.

This is really simple and easy ... you get to see Alaskan husky dogs (and you may be surprised by what they look like), you get to pet some of them, you get to see them run and pull a sled on wheels. What could...More

No snow, but all the dogs were keen to drag the sleds anyway. You could sense the disappointment of the dogs that were not chosen for a run. The best part of a pretty average National Park all things considered

It gives you a great look into the breeding, care and training of the sled dogs for the monitoring of the park in the winter. The dogs are amazingly strong and love to run.

Such an unexpected treat. We got to pet huskies, snuggle huskies, watch them run, and learn all about their role in the park. Totally worth it. Lines from the visitor center to the kennel start to form early and are crazy long. But they took...More

So very well run and organized. I wish I could remember the name of the young girl who ran the demonstration, but her love of her job and enthusiasm was so refreshing. The dogs are awesome. The ones who don't have their pen areas roped...More

We took the bus ride to see the sled dog demonstration. It was very organized and the crowds were managed nicely. People could touch several dogs. The puppies were adorable. The talk by the ranger was outstanding! The dogs did their demonstration and the handlers...More

You have the option to take a bus from the visitor center or you can hike there. The bus ride is a short ride and offered round trip. Dress casually, the same as you would for the national park!
