This is one of the spots you should drive to if you’re visiting the park as the colours really do resemble an artist’s palette. We were there in the middle of the day, sunset would have been pretty amazing so if you can time your...More

Great place to see the colors, especially at sunset. But if you are going at that time, get there early...the parking lot is small and the crowds large.

So many colours, so amazing view, like really somebody painted the mountains:) And we were amazed to see such a place in the Death Valley NP.

We went in the late morning on 12/31. Weather wasn’t too hot. This attraction is a 5 mile drive on a 1 way road with a couple of stopping places. The first stop allows you to hike up a couple hundred yards to a small...More

This is a nine mile trail, which is an amazing one way car friendly route. Whilst all the guides suggest early morning, or late afternoon, we went at mid day and were still able to enjoy the amazing green, grey, red and browns of the...More

Nice spot along Artist's Drive with an abundance of colours. Place is best to be watched at sunset, during the day everything bleaches out.

Right after stopping at Badwater Basin, we drove through Artist’s Drive, which goes through Artist’s Palette. Thankfully, we went in the winter, so the heat was not excruciating. The colors of the rocks are gorgeous. The various colors are, amazingly, caused by the oxidation of...More

Get out of the car and take a longer or shorter hike up the canyon. The colors of the earth are beautiful and worth seeing on foot.

thought there would be more colors. It probably depends on what time of day you go, and where the sum is hitting it directly. I was there mid day. Maybe softer light on it would have provided better palette

This is a very unique and colourful landscape in the entire park. It almost feels as if children were having a field day once upon a time. But it's all natural on the other hand which makes it well worthwhile to check it out!

I am not sure why Artists Drive is closed, the road seemed perfect to me. You can pull off to the side of the main road and walk to the area......once there, walk up to the ridge, you can look all over the Palette from up... More
