    SEEING UP-CLOSE
Took a tour with small van and guide. Beautiful views on the one-way road drive and parked for on-foot exploration. Formations are multi-colored and make good photos. Climbing on rocks can be a little treacherous in spots and definitely not for people with challenged mobility.

Not just the colors, the journey is also a work of art
Wow! Didn’t expect this. Not only is the scenery beautiful (colors, rugged mountains, desert) but the road itself is a work of art! It’s single lane but wide enough and slow enough for an RV to travel on. I would recommend taking this in a passenger car because if you want to stop, the pull outs along the road are too small and the big rig would be blocking the magnificent views. If you can, drive a ways back from the car in front of you so you can take in the sweeping landscape and the swooping beauty of the road. The road is one way traffic, once you are on you are on for the whole 9 miles until you get back on Badwater Rd. Near the beginning are two viewpoints with lots of parking. Beautiful Drive
The ride along this loop road was breathtaking. There were hills, valleys and caverns to drive through and it was exciting because you were just surrounded by beauty. You just did not know where to look first…the colors were magnificent. It is a one way road and we contemplated driving the loop again. Definitely put it on your list when visiting Death Valley NP.

    Excellent Drive
Government well done here. Traveling one direction made a big difference so the road was narrow and almost unobtrusive. Whoever planned and executed this drive did a fabulous job, with some surprise around every corner. Construction around and through the rocks had to be a challenge while maximizing views and safety. Oh yes, the rock coloration is incredible.

We had so much fun taking this drive. It’s a 5 mile one way drive. The colors on the rocks are so beautiful. There are multiple places where you can pull off or stop to take picture. Definitely would highly recommend.

Why this is not to the top thing to do in Death Valley NP is a mystery. A short drive from Furnace Creek Visitor's center this 3 mile of so loop offers those who venture a pallet of soft browns, and reds, and creams in a rolling set of hills that kiss the blue sky. The winding up and down road is easy to drive and provides vistas and intimate views. Do it

Keep on trucking because the colors jump out at you on every turn. The road is a fun diversion from the main drag. We loved the extra hikes along the way, as well.

Absolutely Beautiful, the color of the hills is worth seeing. Our Camera and Phone did not bring all the colors that the eye could see, to light.

We drove this drive twice - once after sunrise and again around sunset. Both were beautiful. The colors of the mountains are varied and colorful - hence the name. We were glad this was a one-way drive because you would not want to confront another car coming the other way. We stopped along the way and got some great photos. The road provided a fun drive - sort of like a roller coaster.

This was a beautiful drive in Death Valley. We especially appreciated how well maintained the road was since it is a mountain road. It is also a one way loop. I wish someone had told the driver who was driving her car the wrong way on the loop.
