If the word 'wash' makes you nervous, don't let it. This road is nicely maintained. We saw RVs and cars make the drive without a problem. This is purportedly where Butch Cassidy hid out and it was fun to imagine him riding in here with...More

Worth driving this road if it is not too wet. We took the 24ft RV down. It give you a great understanding of the reef as you drove between the cliffs.

Grand Wash is a lovely drive. It a good place to get an understanding and appreciation of Capital Reef without driving long distances on bad roads. There is a popular hiking trail at the end of the road.

The drive is so awesome with cliffs 100 and 200 ft tall above. Didnt need a 4x4 to make it. Pretty good roads when I went. They take pretty good care of the roads.

We decided to take this road since we were in the area. The road is not that bad, but you must drive slowly. There are a lot of amazing rockformations in the area. When you get to the parking lot, their is a foot trail....More
