Visited Goosenecks Overlook and was totally blown away! It's like nature's own masterpiece, with twists and turns in the river that just capture your heart. Not super crowded, which was a plus. Easy to get to and the view? Simply unbeatable. A must-see for anyone who loves a good nature spot.

We enjoyed our visit to Goosenecks Overlook and the amazing views down onto Sulphur Creek but dont miss Sunset Point as we thought it was even better.

Located just west of the Capitol Reef Visitor Center, follow the signs to Panorama Point and Goosenecks. Pass by Panorama Point parking area, you can visit on your way back. Then it is about 1 mile on a washboard gravel road until the parking lot for the Goosenecks.
After parking it is a short uphill climb on a well-defined trail to the viewing areas.
When we visited in mid-June it was very windy in the gorge, so if you are wearing a hat, take it off or hold it onto your head.
The views of the goosenecks are impressive. Sulphur creek lays 800 feet below in the gorge.

Short but sweet trail to a nice overlook of the goosenecks of the Fremont River. Not quite on the level of Goosenecks State Park down by Mexican Hat, but still worth the easy effort.

Well worth a stop on way to or leaving Capitol Reef, fabulous overlook after an easy very short hike up an incline. Well worth it

Stopped here for about and hour to see the views and to do a little walking around the rocks. Not to difficult to traverse.

Great views and easy access. We were there during the first snowfall of the year and it looked absolutely beautiful!

Driving the unsaved road to here was not worth it. The views weren’t as good as the ones from the Panorama Point. I was only able to get a few shots. However it is better than the sunset trail. Overall overrated.

There's a short one-mile dirt road to the parking area, then a short (but steep) hike to the overlook. The trail sort of disappears at the top because so many people have wandered different directions, but you need to continue toward the right to get to the overlook.
It's a nice view, but if your time is limited in Capitol Reef, I wouldn't spend it here.

If your time in Capitol Reef is limited, or if you are passing through on Hwy 24, this is a good quick stop since you can see so much, albeit at a distance for much of it. Combine it with Panorama Point or the Sunset Point Trail for more sights and photo ops. We spent two days in Capitol Reef, so Goosenecks and Panorama Point were rather anticlimactic.
