Not an easy hike. Labeled moderate but I thought I'd give it a try. Starts right off with up and up. Came to a path that was flat but realized a ways down was more up. I'm sure it is as beautiful as everything else...More

The Hickman Natural Bridge is very cool. The hike is a little steep but not too long and you go right underneath the bridge. Highly recommend, but do in the morning during summer because there is very little shade.

Bridge is neat. The trail is uphill. You gain 350' in elevation. Takes about 45 minutes to get there and 20 to get back. It is an exposed hike, so do it when it is cool or bring lots of water

This is a popular trail, even in hot weather, partly from the amenities of immediate parking, men/women restrooms, and the refreshing, swift-moving Fremont River hugging the trail head. The restrooms are a nice feature, although somehow both units became locked from the inside, causing certain...More

Our family of 5 hiked the Hickman Bridge Trail on a Thursday evening in late July. The beginning is a pretty steep climb with some slippery/sandy steps. After the first 1/3rd of the hike the trail is not well marked, plus it was not heavily...More

We just finished a trip of the mighty five with a family of four with two teenagers. This was our family's favorite hike at this park. Good challenging hike but all abilities can do it with water and going at your own speed. Not many...More

Nice hike. Lots to see: Fremont River, Native American site, Natural Bridges, caves, wildlife. History of settlement in Capitol Reef interesting. Helped us complete the Mighty 5

This was the 'just right' hike. Took us slow folks two hours round trip. Found the hike to be scenic and mildly challenging for us non-hikers. The trail at the end circles around the 'hickman bridge' an amazing site. Generally, we are unable to take...More
