Most of the NPS visitor centers are very good and this is no exception. Great exhibits, friendly and helpful staff, very nice (but crowded) gift shop. We loved looking at the exhibits and also the fossil lab in back - my kids loved watching them work on uncovering and cleaning up the fossils. Great place.

Drove through the Badlands recently. Views and rock formations were amazing, especially with the relatively flat country surrounding it. The visitors center is a good place to stop, use the clean restrooms, and get information. They have a nice gift shop too.

I went on a bus tour and this was a wonderful trip! The center was very informative and had lots of goodies to buy of course! Please if you go to The Badlands stop in. A very nice park service.

Begin your visit to the Badlands at the Ben Reifel Visitor Centre. Interesting exhibits and very helpful rangers will help you get oriented. A great gift shop and restaurant are within walking distance.

From the entrace to this location is 25 miles or so with winding roads and awesome landscapes all around. At this stop you can take a break, and it truly is a visitor center with a lot of historical information. Of course what is a visitor center without souvenirs.

We arrived at our campground around 5AM. And slept for about 4 hours. Visited the visitor center, bought a bunch of tourist souvenirs, and hit the road. The museum was very informative. Great place to stop.

We strolled through the exhibits that provided background on the geology, flora, fauna and animals that The Badlands offers

The visitor center was a great stop for the family to get out and stretch their legs. The museum offers displays of extinct animals that once lived in the Badlands. The visitor center also has a Native American area with a movie to teach you about the native Americans that once lived in the Badlands. The visitor center also has... More

Come here first to get help in planning your visit then see an interesting museum on the park and the fossilized evidence of climate and topography changes. Stop by the archaeology workshop to see the scientists prepare the fossils are analysis. You probably will not see that anywhere else. The only downside is that the center opens late morning and... One of the nicer visitor centers we have ever visited. Lots of well done exhibits and great staff. A must see place on in the park.
