The badlands national park is amazing. We have a national park pass so it was free. Without the pass it costs $20. There are trails, camping, cabins, pull offs. There are many great picture opportunities. It's fantastic to see.

We are looking for places in the nature which are interesting and unusual. This place is definitely different then other national parks. You can see interesting rock formations with variety of layers. Some trail you can find the fossils and wonder what happened in the...More

We visited the wall as part of a photography workshop with Tom Bol Photo Workshops. June is the perfect time to photograph lightning during the frequent thunderstorms. The wall makes the perfect background for storms. Use a tripod and set up just before sunset. After...More

Worth stopping for and driving to a while to get there. Many places to pull off and look around for a bit.

The formations throughout the Badlands Park are breathtaking. The camera does not quit snapping photos. Really incredible. A must see.

Don't miss the Badlands if you are going through this area. It is truly amazing. Feels like you are on another planet if you go on the trails that take you into the different areas. We saw more wildlife in this park than anywhere else...More

One word says it all for us, Spectacular. The green hills, the rugged landscape, and the prairie dog area, all seen while doing a great drive. There is plenty of easily accessed parking and viewing sites. The visitor centre is very nice with very friendly...More

This landmark is had to miss as you drive to the Cedar Pass Lodge or the Park's Visitor Center. During sunrise I expect it would be majestic. It was foggy, rainy, overcast during our visit. But it still looked good.

a) I would only take a tour if you are really, really short on time or do not want to rent a car. The Badlands are easily seen in 1 day unless you want to do some of the longer hikes. b) We found it very easy to see... More
