This was a multi-level treat. The scenery and trails were 1st rate. The narration added interest to the sights without being obtrusive. The chance to ride in a horse-drawn vehicle gave insight into a way of life common to our forebears. The horses were beautiful, obviously well-cared for, and seemed contented in their work. They were driven skillfully and given... More

I think a carriage ride just about anywhere makes that place all the more enjoyable. Unless, that is, Cosmo Kramer is the Coachman. But here in Acadia it's a wonderful way to enjoy parts of Acadia you might otherwise not be able to enjoy. I think it's debatable, whether it's better before Spring has sprung and you can see more... This is a must see with lots of history and a great ride. We took my 89 year old Mother on this trip and all three of us had a great time. My Mother uses a walker and they had a step and helping hands for her to get on the carriage. Bring your camera. Well worth the money and... More

We really enjoyed this two hour tour of some of Rockefeller's bridges on a beautiful day. The narrative about the park, the family history there and particularly the lives and habits of the horses, Pete and (lazy) Gub were informative and entertaining. The carriage was more comfortable than I had anticipated and everything was run on schedule. Considering the cost... More

We enjoyed traveling the carriage roads as they were built to be traveled - by horse and wagon. Our guide and driver was great!

Beautiful ride along carriage roads. Well informed guide who entertained all our questions including, how are you supposed to eat a popover, anyway? It was chilly and rainy and while we loved the ride, it would have been great to have had some umbrellas available for use. My husband, who is 6'3", did mention to me that it was a... More

The carriage ride on the carriage roads in Acadia was beautiful. We really enjoyed the scenery, history and beauty during our ride. Our driver Darren was wonderful. She was very friendly and helpful during our tour. Thanks! We were a little early for the big foliage change but still very nice. We did this as a tour as an excursion... More

First of all, make reservations as soon as you decide you want to do this during your visit to Acadia national park. They added an afternoon ride which allowed us to take part. It is a great way to travel the carriage roads especially if you can't hike them. We saw water views and mountain views from the carriage. Our... More

We did the horse-drawn carriage ride on some of the carriage roads in Acadia National Park. I think it is best to experience these roads in this manner. Our guide was excellent and informative. It is definitely worth the time.

Unfortunately we never actually made it for our carriage ride......the GPS sends you to the opposite end of where you need to be. When I called to say I think we were lost the girl on the phone told me that I was indeed lost, they are fully aware of the GPS mishap, we were going to miss our carriage... More
