This is one of the most fun trails I've ever experienced. It is a unique challenge compared to just walking through the woods or whatever. Don't let the reviews (and pictures) scare you. My wife was mortified after reading and seeing too much, but once...More

Hiker beware: this is not an easy hike. There are multiple times that all three contact points are on metal rungs or railings. You will climb vertically on metal rung ladders and you will keep tight to the cliffside as you make your way along...More

One of the very best hikes you can do anywhere! It is a little scary in some places, but we figure that if people died there, the national parks would let people keep hike up. It is steep and thrilling. The view from the top...More

It can be very discouraging for someone who is afraid of heights, but the view is so very worth it. Take your time and remember that the way down is not like the way up. The way down is so simple and easy! So keep...More

Without doing enough research, I soon found myself, my wife, two brothers, and my 50yo parents working our way up this exhilarating climb. We knew there were sections where we had to climb iron rungs, but nothing any able bodied person can't accomplish. There were...More

Did this trail with my 10 & 8 year old children! They love to climb & don't have a fear of heights and thank god for that! A pretty technical trail with sheer climbs assisted by metal rungs put in some rocks! Must be really...More

Yes I believe the shuttle to the park...then there are different shuttles within Acadia you'd have to find out which line takes you to sand beach stop

It took us about 1.5 hrs round trip. We ended up stopping and enjoying the views and exploring a bit on way down
