Escot is known as the Natural Place for good reason. In the 220 acres of parkland, threatened native species such as the iconic red squirrel and the secretive water vole have found sanctuary in surroundings steeped in history and filled with beautiful plants and champion trees. Meet Escot’s family of otters, wild boar and the stunning birds of prey. There’s woodland to explore, wetlands to navigate, a maze to solve and so much more.

Our group consisted of four adults, three OAPs and three grandchildren. Having travelled from the Midlands for a few days away to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday and a 9th birthday for one of our grandsons we found that the half-term holiday in Devon had already happened and that all local attractions had closed down in the area except for... Wild wood could be a gem of a place but sadly it very down trodden. We love walking through the woods, We expect the walkways to have fallen leaves and to deal with thick mud, it is the outdoors after all. But what I won't except is the lack of investment in the facilities. Please could the owners have a... More

We, as grandparents have season tickets for Escot, as close by, and visit more than 3 times a year. Tremendous good value if you like to wander in faded old planted woodland and your children/grandchildren want to run and "get lost" in the woods and find things to jump slide and climb. There is also an indoor play barn which... More

I have been to Escot twice now both times just myself and my husband. On our first visit we entered the whole park, £9.50 each. To be honest I had no idea what to expect I just wanted to see some red squirrels! It was a crisp November day and only the wildcats had decided it was just too chilly... More

Good: things to do to occupy children, death slide was fun, maze was difficult and kept our 4 kids busy for ages, some nice animals and birds. Food was good once it arrived (see below) Bad: too expensive I think. Looked a bit tired and some fenced off areas looked poorly managed. Tills at both entrance and cafe didn't work... More

We visited with the express intention of seeing the red squirrels and we certainly weren't disappointed. The squirrel walk through means you can get quite close to them and watch them going about their normal business. The food set out for them also means there is a huge variety of birds. Although the squirrel enclosure is free there is a... More

My daughter, her husband and their 6 month old baby were visiting me for a week. They live overseas and I rarely see them. I wanted to make their week memorable and.thought they would enjoy a visit to a wildlife park/woods. I had read about Wildwood Escot in the .November edition of the One magazine. Peter Frost's article states 'come... More

We had a lovely afternoon at Escot. It was a bright crisp autumn day and we got to see all the animals in their enclosures. Some enclosures seemed small but no smaller than other wildlife parks and all the animals seemed happy and well looked after. The outside play area and the "drop slide" were great fun by all accounts... More

Great day out for all ages. Otter talk and birds of prey very good and lovely to see our native red squirrels - just wish we could do more to protect and increase their numbers! Activity parks and trails well set out to keep younger children on the move and entertained. Halloween activities enjoyable too. Worth a visit!

We visited Wildwood Escot with our two boys (7 and 4) on a Sunday in October, whilst on a 3 night break. There seemed to be plenty to do on the website so we decided to give it a go. We had a great time, the park itself is a little less manaicured then other places we have visited but... More
