This is a shrine located in Nihonbashi, and dedicated to safe child birth. I loved the design of the shrine, simple wood and gold, very pretty. There were lots of families and pregnant women there, presumably praying for safe delivery.

Closed and hidden by mount of building, Suitengu Shrine is famous for people requesting good healths and mostly to be pregnant. My wife got a problem in the foetus, and really needs help. That's why we moved to this place making a wish. Hope it's gonna help. Many japanese citizen said that many mother got results after making a wish in that temple.

As far as a can remember, this shrine is dedicated to safe child birth. Therefore you will see many couples there without child praying for a safe birth and couples with newborns or toddlers thanking for a safe birth. -- If you take pictures pictures, please be respectful and discrete to the families, they are not part of a tourist attraction.
The Shrine is one of the seven lucky shrines of Nihonbashi area that is dedicted to one of the 7 deities of fortune. Visiting alle the seven shrines is like a scavenger hunt, because the other six are very tiny.
In April 2018 the wood of the shrine looked very new. It will turn darker with time. Therefore the actual look will fade with time.

We really enjoyed coming to this temple for a visit. It is a really beautiful little temple. When you walk in, you are not really sure where to go. There are no English signage. Just follow the people in front. You can line up to cast a count and ring the bells, there is a way that you should do it. You can watch a few people do it to get the gist but there is a room upstairs in the souvenir building that has a lecture space with a tv giving instructions. You can check that out first. Washroom is also located here. There are many charms and souvenirs you can get from this shrine to pray for a safe delivery, conceiving a baby and so on. For a small fee, you can even get them to pray (the next day, you don’t have to be there as they take down the name) for someone or yourself. They are famous for their childbirth belts that are blessed by the temple. Many people bring their babies back to give thanks once they deliver, or have a ceremony. We stayed for about an hour or so. Check online for more background so you can appreciate it more in person.

I went to Tokyo on business in May and September 2016. Suitengumae is a quiet neighborhood next to Nihonbashi. After I finished my business meeting, I first went past Tokyo City Air Terminal (TCAT) and the Royal Park Hotel. This is actually a very convenient place to stay because TCAT is very convenient for going to Narita Airport and the Tokyo subway is right there. You pass the Suitengu Shrine by walking out of the Royal Park Hotel and turning right and continuing to walk for a couple of blocks. The shrine is very interesting especially in the middle of a neighborhood which is mainly shops and restaurants. You can take some photos and continue walking toward Nihonbashi.

It is located just down the street from TCAT and is not that impressive externally but it is ionteresting inside. It has been rebuilt and some of the old shops have gone but inside it is a typical Japanese Shrine. This Shrine is known to assist fertility and is popular with Japanese people for that reason.

This shrine was just rebuilt. Opened in April 2016. The new shrine was made in the traditional way from wood and copper roof etc. The previous shrine, although nice, was painted pre made concrete.
This is now Tokyo's newest shrine building. Very clean and well made. Doesn't have the traditional old feel yet, but a good example of perfect craftsmanship.

This is fascinating , easy to get to and very Japanese.
The surrounding area has extensive markets and stalls full of great street food and loads of souvenirs.

At the edge of the Amazake Yokocho area, you can visit the 7 Lucky Shrines in this area...for those seeking wealth, luck, prosperity, and more. Check out the famous Amazake Yokocho area specialty shops - like Shigemore-eishindo, which makes sweet bean cakes in the shape of the Seven Lucky Gods (of the nearby Shrines) or the Japanese Kite Museum.
