Neighbourhood: Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's also a downtown area with shops that were founded over a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza. It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels, world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular with anyone looking for a night out.

- Becky.D219 contributionsHuge storeThis store was huge and I liked the display of jumpers when you walked in. Brought a few bits for myself including some very handy bags that then became a staple for the rest of my trip. Great prices compare to the UK and tax free shopping too.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 4 February 2024
- Olga BGuatemala City, Guatemala256 contributionsLove at first sightI love Uniqlo and always find very nice inexpensive clothing. They have the best termal underwear and the feather vest and jacket that weight nothing, rain coats etc. This Uniqlo is the biggest in Japan, 12 floors. The first floor is beautiful with shirts moving in harmony in the middle of the stores, socks also moving and they show you the latest things and tell you in which floor you can find them. The tax free is wonderful you just show your passport and they scan it and you immediately get your tax deduction before paying it. From the outside you see the maniquís turning around. - Brun066Florence, Italy13,465 contributionsStill one of the largest stores belonging to the Uniqlo chain in the world.Uniqlo (acronym for "unique clothes") is a multilocalized company, aimed to the manufacturing and sale of clothing items, which originated in Japan and currently has just under 4000 stores worldwide. This branch (Chuo-dori, Ginza) isn't the oldest in Tokyo, but it certainly is outstanding. One of the largest in the world among those in the chain, being spread over 12 floors, it stood out - at least at the time we visited it, July 2024 - for the rows of mannequins arranged in contact with the windows so as to be clearly seen from the street, and slowly rotating on themselves, to draw attention.Visited July 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 20 September 2024

The biggest Uniqlo in Tokyo. I love Uniqlo as their clothes are affordable and good quality. It is also simple with timeless fashion, making it easy to match. I can easily spend 1-2 hours there especially when there's a sale. This place is huge and you can actually get lost inside. It is every shopping lovers paradise.

A must visit for all Uniqlo shoppers and shoppers in general. Located in the fashionable center of Japan, Ginza. This place has flor after floor after floor of clothing. Now if you are into fashion, this place satisfies that check box, but what's even better, is that it's pocket friendly so you can pick up a few items to take back home. After all, it's a great cocktail topic when you tell them you picked up that shirt in Tokyo. Bottom line, it's a must for anyone looking for fashion, savings, and a shopping experience.

It is the biggest Uniqlo indeed, but somehow it does not make my shopping comfortable . packed with people and quite struggling in making your way up and down. As i said on the title, i still prefer to go to uniqlo in tokyo Midtown. it is not as big as this one, but selection are quite the same and more space to just walk around while choosing and comparing products.

We went to this UNIQLO store specifically for the plus sizes. Quite a limited range (2 jacket designs, some fleece jackets, shirts, jeans, thermals) compared to what the normal sized people (!!) get. Ladies' 3XL is approximately a UK16, men's 4XL is a US 2-3XL. Store is big, lots to see, staff is helpful :)

The shop is very big (12 floors) and beautiful. It's a world famous brand but in Japan their sizes are especially small. Compared to Uniqlo in New York, the XL represents a M-L western size. I wish they would sell a bit bigger in that shop. There is a plus size corner but nothing like the other Uniqlo in the world. As they do it for the States, they could at least have a shop in Tokyo selling bigger sizes.

I’m a Uniqlo fan from the Philippines, so of course I had to shop at the flagship store in Ginza. Yes, there are a lot of goods; yes, there are 12 floors. But be aware that most of the floors carry the same items. If you’re looking for sale items, then you will have to go floor by floor, as sale items are not carried on every floor. Most of them were in the back, by the floor to ceiling windows. Also, since Japan has 4 seasons, the clothes here are also seasonal. We went in November, so cold weather clothes. Very few warm weather items.
I had wanted a lightweight full length down coat, and I got it - tax free. However, my niece, who only got a sweater, had to pay tax, even though the signs said all items are tax free. I guess there’s a minimum. So I just added her sweater to my cache.

If you love UNIQLO, this is the place to be! It's very big, many floors.. Too many! Great collection of t-shirts designed by local designers. International staff. Easy tax refund.
Enjoyable shopping experience, but I prefer BICQLO in Shinjuku, easier to navigate.

We spent at least 2-3 hours in this store - 12 levels of great prices and all sorts of variety! We were there during the new year sales, which had amazing bargains. 100% cashmere sweaters for USD 40... Merino wool sweaters for USD 15...
Remember to pay at the Level 1 cashier to get your goods tax free.
Also do check the shelves that have clothing still in transparent plastic bags. I believe those are stock they're phasing out (hence they don't even bother hanging them up), and so they have extremely good discounts on them. I got a 100% silk top for less than USD 10.

I’ve heard it’s around a three week. Wait time for custom embroidery will they ship it to you in the US?

What is Uniqlo’s return policy in Japan? I bought 2 pairs of pants from the Ginza store last March. But I lost weight and want to exchange them for a smaller size when I go back in September (within 6 months from purchase date). Is this possible?

Hello dtravelatte,
When you say your favourite Uniqlo is in Midtown, where exactly is this? Is it the one in Shunjiuku, the one in Roppongi, Shibuya...? Sorry, I am not familiar with the areas of Tokyo
Many Thanks!
Etienne

Hi,
Most easy to find Uniqlo is at Tokyo Station (JR Yamanote Line) and the other one is in Ginza, the most famous shopping street.

Hola! viajo en mayo a Tokyo y quisiera saber si hay camperas de las que vienen en bolsita en talle xL y si recordas el precio. Te gusto Japon? Aun no se si sacar la JR PASS... Gracias!
Written 6 January 2017
