The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's also a downtown area with shops that were founded over a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza. It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels, world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular with anyone looking for a night out.

With wonderful and beautiful items within. There is Mikomoto spa which is okay priced for Ginza. Suggest that you book ahead given popularity

I first shopped here in 1961. Mr. Masayuki Sabanai will give you excellent service, and in excellent English, too. The store is located on several floors. Diamonds are mixed with pearls, too. I think I saw the most expensive piece in the store: one strand for one-third million dollars. "The best of the best." Luster is what distinguishes that. Mr. Sabanai can educate you as much as you can handle in the story of pearls. And no high pressure.

It’s okay to go in and just look, but I suggest saving at least a little budget to experience the wonderful customer service and just the whole buying experience at Mikimoto. It is a life long memory.

Looking for the perfect gift? Look no further and visit the Mikimoto Boutique and prepare yourself for some fabulous finds! Service was fabulous, attentive and very personalized. I was escorted to a private lounge and served tea and orange juice while the items were gift wrapped. Left with 2 precious 'souvenirs' of Japan for my truly thrilled wife!

Located at Ginza, opposite Mitsukoshi, Mikimoto, Pearl King, is a must stop if you are fan of pearl jewelry. Beautiful design and quality pearl. Price-wise is reasonable for quality pearl.

Apart from this, they there is another mikimoto in Mitsubishi Mitsukoshimae.

I had specifically planned some time to visit the store with the intention of purchasing a single pearl necklace (not the full-string necklaces). I was first directed to the wrong floor, but that's okay as there was probably a miscommunication. When I reached the correct floor (I believe the 2nd) I saw what I was looking for. I was immediately greeted by a young woman with medium length black hair, who wasn't the friendliest but she did answer some questions if rather shortly. I wanted some time to just browse and look around first, and I think that's when she thought I became a problem. Even though I told her I wanted to look around a bit she followed me quite closely, and would just stare at me. It was a bit odd so I walked away a bit, thinking I'd visit other floors first, but decided to go back and just finish what I came to this store to do.

She immediately walked up to me again, this time on the same side of the counter I was, stood 2 feet away and just stared at me. I told her, again, I was fine and just wanted to look first. She didn't say anything and just stared, before following me around the counter. Finally, I just left because it was so uncomfortable and I certainly wasn't going to buy anything from her. Because of this, I didn't bother looking around the other levels. All in all not the best customer service and yes, lost a customer that day. Good job!
