The temple is easily accessible by public transport. The temple is big and quiet even with some crowds of people. You could find yourself staying in a quiet temple for the whole afternoon. There is a rest room for visitors so you don't have to...More

This was our final “history and culture” stop for our project oishi which covers Kyoto Osaka. As it was a weekday, the flea market was closed (it opens only on Sunday we understand). Did not see any tourist and mainly locals. Still it provided many...More

This is one of the oldest temples in Japan. Established in the 6th century and by way of Buddhist religion. Very good trip to try and understand Japanese culture. Also serene surroundings allow you time to reflect. You can enter the temple grounds for free...More

We hade visited Shinsekai and didn't know what to do next so we went to see this Shitenni´oji garden. It's small and a bit average or maybe we felt that way because we'd seen so many wonderful ones in Kyoto.

It was a simple temple well kept and much revered by locals. The surrounding temple grounds were huge and spacious. Steep climb up the pagoda must be executed without shoes.

A bit of a walk to get here but I thought well worth it. In the short road to the first main entrance gate, there are stalls set up selling snacks and souvenirs. The temple is not as impressive as some others I have seen...More
