    Varying quality of floors…
…but when it’s at its best, it’s amazing. The miniature and life-sized recreations of areas of old Osaka on (I think) floors 7 and 9 were wonderful to look at and wander round. Utterly fantastic views of Osaka Castle too.

Osaka grows from 7th Century into modern era
A combined ticket with castle expands awareness of historical changes in this area. Dioramas are well done. I used the English wand for added cost though some signage is also in English. Altogether it was very affordable and not overwhelming. Four floors to see, from prehistory into 20th Century.

    Very informative.
This is very interesting to learn about Osaka and it's history. Located by the Castle and you can easily combine the two. Easy to navigate and well laid out. Highly recommend if you want to learn more. Building is huge. Good to do on a rainy day, like I did. Check the website for opening hours.

An excellent way to learn about Japanese history
The museum provides a fascinating insight into the History of Osaka from the 7th Century to the modern era. Situated by the Castle it helps explain the turbulent history of that building. A very modern museum that is easy to navigate and most definitely worth a visit.

Wasted opportunity to showcase Osaka’s rich history
Nice exhibits and wonderful view of castle. Limited English description Audio guide narration is painful. Slow reading of a document, section numbers and headings included. Arggghh. No wifi. Probably fine for a Japanese audience but wasted opportunity for foreign visitors.

    Excellent miniatures
The museum is located near Osaka Castle and combined tickets can be purchased. The exhibitions are easy to navigate and there are some English descriptions as well. You have a great view over Osaka Castle and the surrounding area. What I loved most about the museum were the detailed miniatures of various time periods and areas.

    Enjoyable museum.
I really enjoyed my visit to this museum, the miniatures and life-size recreations are beautiful and the exhibits are fun. While there is minimal English signage there is enough to explain the exhibits and displays so. I would definitely recommend visiting this place if you are in Osaka.

An interesting museum set over four floors, starting at level 10. There are some great look outs to the modern and ancient castles, which are great.

Interesting information about the early history to present day Japan. The most interesting floor was the 10th floor. The rest was OK. The permanent display was very interesting.
