Beautiful Japanese style garden right next to Ohori Park. Many Japanese even don't know about this park. The entrance fee is really cheap, and foreigners get an additional discount on it. There are also tea ceremonies held from time to time.

The garden itself is small and unlike the rest of Ohori park, you need to pay to enter. Yet, I went around several times, listening to the little river, and enjoying the quiet. Then, rested a bit and read sitting on the ground next to...More

We stopped in here during our afternoon at Ohori Park, and I’m so glad that we did. Whilst not large, it’s a beautiful and tranquil Japanese garden with streams, waterfalls, a lake with koi carp and a range of trees and shrubs. It’s ¥190 to...More

This is Ohori Park's Japanese Garden. It's located at the southern end of the park. There's an admission fee (190 yen for a single adult as of May 2017), and it is worth the money. This is a small garden, but it is so tranquil....More

It was a nice cool and breezy day today. We went to Ohori Park by train and started our wander. We then found the Japanese Garden. This was a compact formal garden that was just a wonderful respite from the city. The formal gardens and...More

Ohori Koen Japanese Garden, located adjacent to Ohori Park, is a typical example of Japanese garden with pond and stones. If you have never seen such a garden, it is worthy to take a look. You can certainly take nice pictures.

The Japanese are brilliant at garden layout - they 'borrow' scenery from all quarters for example you may be looking at a feature and your eye is visually moved to other areas surrounding what your looking at. If you haven't experienced this pay a visit...More

Truly lovely. Very relaxing, great place to take some photos of traditional Japanese sculpted gardens. Calm, quiet. Not large-you don't need a lot of time here. But a great way to spend an hour, if the wether is nice.

We loved this place. The garden is maintained to a high standard and is just beautiful. There is a nice natural lake with fish you can feed. Staff were friendly and gave us a free gift of origami and decorated chopsticks. Entry fee is only...More
