Though the season is over, we were there to visit the oldest 🌸 tree. My hubby and i took sometime to locate the tree. It is a magnificent tree and definitely, the best view of the tree would be in the 🌸 season. This park...More

Lovely place to take a breather when walking between temples, plenty of seating fish ponds bridges and of course Kyotos oldest cherry blossom tree. Wish that we had come a touch earlier in the year I bet that it was stunning.

Although the park itself is beautiful the fact that is so crowded by tourists makes it less interesting or attractive than other places in Kyoto. Of course it’s a nice thing to visit while in the area, surrounded by temples and really close to Gion.

Great park to feed the pigeon and a short break after a long walking in the morning. It’s a walk in a little park, with great view of lake from the bridge. Little boy is being excited and chasing the pigeons away.

During Sakura, the main attraction of this park is a huge cherry tree in its center. It is lit up at night and is quite a sight to behold. Locals picnic nearby to enjoy the flowers. Without the cherry blossoms though, there is nothing particularly...More

Just missed the cherry blossoms but nonetheless a beautiful, tranquil and picturesque park to have a leisurely stroll in. Came by a pond with some swimming turtles. Very peaceful. Allowed us a nice rest before heading towards Gion.

Being cherry blossom season, the path was lined with food vendors selling beer, drinks, yakitori, ikayaki, takoyaki and lots of snacks. The park was packed with locals most of them picnicking under the cherry trees. Clearly, everyone seemed to be enjoying the spring sunshine and...More

Just behind the Yasaka Shrine, no admission fee required to enter both places, nice shrine with food stalls and some chargeable show (ghost house). The park is calm, beauty, perfect place for picnicking.

The park is just beyond the Yasaka Shrine. The weeping cherry trees were in full bloom, so there were quite a bit of people. Many ladies were in the traditional Japanese kimonos, taking pictures with the cherry blossoms. It has a lovely lake/pond, with crossing...More
