We heard about Noro from another guide we had in Japan. While it seemed like an expensive taxi ride to get to the shop in hindsight it was worth the effort and money. Our guide Jack was very nice and extremely knowledgeable (taught Japanese history...More

We did the tour at 1pm and our guide was Atticus. He was great and told us a lot of stuff about the temples and culture of Japan. The bikes were great and most of the road was flat. Highlight of the trip was seeing...More

Absolutely loved the tour hosted by Lianka! Full of brilliant insights into the local culture and area, we spent the rest of our time in Kyoto following her tips! The tour was not overly strenuous but we covered a good distance.

Although not cheap, we thought this was a great way of seeing Kyoto. Lianca was a great guide; and having had a Japanese Guide in Tokyo (a getting the Japanese view of themselves) it was really interesting to get the perspective of a non-Japanese resident....More

The experience was fabulous. The guide did a really good job of pointing out interesting aspects of all the places we visited, and was very knowledgeable when asked any type of question. I had visited several temples previously, but going through the golden temple with...More

Nishijin District
A district with a long textile heritage, ancient Kyoto
is still alive in the Nishijin District. Studded with
its weaving factories, tea houses, and onsen, the
neighborhood is charming and peaceful with a
self-possessed air. Less traveled than other parts of
the city, it is a district where you can take it at
your own pace. Visitors can explore the many weaving

There is not much else for your mother to do except walk to one of the nearby temples. It is a quiet neighborhood area. I don't know taxi cost. We went by train and walking. I would guess $10-15.

Hi! Kyoto is cold in the winter but we still run the tours! Our guests usually come prepared with gloves and a warm jacket. With best regards, Ross
