    Excellent overview
An excellent and educational hour or so trying a great range of different wines, many beyond our usual budget. The guide Adriano explained everything so clearly and patiently and with perfect English. Highly recommend a visit.

    A lecture in Barolo wines
As novices in Barolo wines we had a perfect guiding through the different terrorisme soil types and their impact on the wines. All demonstrated with tasting. Very educational, and done by a very pleasant and excellent english speaking guide. We forgot to Ask his name, bit all credit to him👍 Of course we endes up biting something for the cellar. Cant wait for 5 years to pass😇😇🍷⚒

Combination of gaining knowledge and enjoying wine
We had a fabulous experience here. We didn’t do a tour but, instead, tasted many of the affordable wines on offer. At the same time and in this relaxed atmosphere, we were able to read about the region’s wines and understand from the excellent information available the different grapes, the regions and how the the terroir affected the final product. For us, however, we gained some outstanding knowledge from Roberto who gave us a lot of space when we were tasting and then answered our questions so well and with so much humour. Came away with a well-rounded experience ….. and a lot of wine.

Very educational visit, with a guide to introduce you to the different regions that produce Barolo. Neat “credit card” type system where you can taste as much as you want of many different bottles and pay at the end. So the extent and depth of your experience is up to you. A great first stop for an introduction to the area!

My wife, our two grown up daughters and myself, visited the Enoteca Regionale del Barolo in October 2018.
The Enoteca is owned by the Barolo commune, which makes it non commercial. As a result, they cannot recommend wines, but walk you through your choice of tastings.
Non drinkers will also enjoy the visit for there is a lot of information being offered by the guides.
Since it bears relevance to the appreciation of the quality of the information supplied, I should say that being a WSET level 3 Award in Wines, I am familiar with this kind of experiences. The guides do know their job, the more you know, the deeper the level of the information they will supply to you, their work is undoubtedly superb, very well crafted.
They have 32 Barolo wines to be tasted, coming from all the communes in the region which produce these wines.
People interested in wines will have a most enriching tasting experience, for the wines are classified by areas, the vines being grown in soils of different geological origin, despite being geographically so close, which lead to an unbelievable diversity.
Barolo wines are expensive, and it will be difficult to taste such a variety of them, without a visit of this kind.
If you don’t drink wine, there is a lot of information in offer, which makes the experience most interesting, from the diversity of soils, to slopes, sun exposure, climate, viticulture and vinification related issues, etc.
I truly recommend a visit, it will be a pleasant, instructive and well crafted experience.

Basically you can skip this one.

I think it is such a pity that the Barolo region doesn’t use this enoteca as an opportunity to create ambassadors for their great wine! At least that is my feeling about my visit.

The enoteca is located in a large hall under the castle. You get a plastic card and a glass at the counter and with that card you can tap wines from a machine with bottles of Barolo wine connected to it. The selection of wines that can be tasted is relatively small.
There is very little information available and the only employee is handing out cards and glasses and handling the payments for people who buy some wine. So no advice, no education.
Overall a very impersonal and boring experience.

For a modest fee you can taste 123 new vintage wines. A great way to explore a diverse range of wines and select a few for a proper tasting

Use the enomatic system to offer 20 different tastings at reasonable prices. Organised by region so interesting approach plus includes an older vintage section. Tried wines we had not seen elsewhere. Bit off the beaten track but worth finding. Not much stock in May but new vintages are due.
