The Italians have some strange museums. This is the weirdest. The village of Barolo itself is so cute that it is the Disney-perfect version of an Italian village. Of course there is a castle in the middle of town, because all these medieval hilltop villages...More

The museum had been designed by François Confino, known as a world leader in museum exhibitions. It is located in the Barolo Castle, and tells the story of wine production and drinking since pre-historical times. At the lowest floor of the museum, there is a...More

I don't know really why but I did not like this museum. Too much drama for me. I expected it to be more classical.

Very happy to have made a visit to the Museum. It is located in a real Castle and the exhibits are quite well done. I think children would enjoy some of the interactive displays. It was very informational on wine and the area. Definitely worth...More

When you are interested in wine and the history of that region - go on, nice museum with a great view from the top of the building!

We really enjoyed visiting this wine museum in Barolo. It was clever, innovative and sophisticated. Moreover it was informative even to wine tragics.

I was not expecting much from another museum, but the Museo del Vino a Barolo was a surprise. Slightly haunted in atmosphere it was an interesting ode to wine. From the flying metronomes to the mesmeric TV lips singing songs about wine from around the...More

Very disappointing, overdone 'artistic' exhibition about wine and its history in mankind. You learn nothing about wine making and local traditions. In addition modest exhibition of the family that lived in the castle for centuries. We were with 4, entree total of €32. Better spend...More

If you are visiting Barolo and need a break from fine wine tasting and excellent food to eat, then the castle is worth a look. The castle is old, but the museum is modern in its approach to sharing the wine history of the region...More
