If you are in the Golan you should not miss this place. Fantastic views from the fortress. The tour is self guided and there are numerous rooms to explore.

Located in the breathtaking mountainous norther border of Israel, Nimrod Fortress sits upon the peak of a mountain, providing both jaw dropping views of the surrounding area, and and excellent and well preserved historical site, big enough to explore for at least half a day.

Although it was extremely hot, the breeze was nice.. views are stunning. we explored the fort for two hours and found dark steps, indiana johns style lol, bats hanging in the semi dark rooms and stunning views. Highly recommend.

They open on 8:00 until 16:00 in the winter( you should be out by then) There is no local guide, and you need to bring one with you or walk by yourself with the panflet the cashier gives you with the ticket
