Well off the beaten track and a good walk from the car park but this little gem, sitting alone on its rocky promontary is a must. You get to it via the little village of La Motte It has no less than three drawbridges (one with a portcullis) with one converted into a bridge - a chapel, a keep, an... More

You can see Fort Latte from Dinard, and it looks intriguing.....the fortified Chateau sits on a rocky promontory almost detached from the mainland, accessible by a bridge/drawbridge. (Like a mini Mon St.Michel) It's a well-maintained historical site which is still a private home, but sympathetically restored/maintained with extremely useful and thoughtfully sited information boards. Apart from its dramatic location, it's... More

This place is open limited times out of holiday season so check before coming. It is a reasonable walk from the car park down to the fort and the road way has a high hedge so it is not till you round a bend near the bottom that you get a great view. Nice walks nearby on clifftop coastal path.... More

Be sure to visit and walk the walls and ramparts of old St Malo and Dinard within a few days of going to Fort La Latte. All 3 tie in together. Our English speaking guide was terrific. We could see St Malo from the Fort.

Not flashy or overdone, but a beautifully renovated site with excellent English language signage. Stunning location, with spectacular views. Well worth a drive if you have a free afternoon
