    MRT goes everywhere, quickly
The Taipei Metro System, known as the MRT, goes almost everywhere, quickly. I had two jobs, and I always took the MRT going to work. Once, as an experiment, I took a taxi. It was slower than the MRT and much more expensive. I spent 10 years in Taipei, and I never felt tempted to buy a car. At rush hour, space can get a bit tight, but passengers are always very polite.

Clean and easy to get around
Metro connects to many attractions in the city. Frequency is good, usually around 3 to 4min between trains. Metro map is easy to read and metro line connections are clearly indicated and announced. Metro station and trains are very clean. Family seats available in train which are shaped like a “L” instead of a row of seats. Not all exits are wheelchair accessible, do take note to find out which exits are not if lifts are required.

    I give it 10 stars!
This is one of the best and most affordable metro systems in the world. It is very clean and I believe 50NTD is the most expensive fare. It pretty much goes anywhere you want to go. Just the best way to get around.

    Stations Seem To Be Everywhere
I can recall visiting Taipei several times before the Metro opened. The streets were full of motoercycles and getting around was far from easy. The Metro now is not only one of the most extensive in any capital city; it is incredibly inexpensive. It is rare now for me to take taxi in the city.

    Try to avoid peak periods
The Metro is cheap, but fast, clean, and gets the job done. I used it extensively with an Easycard. You can buy individual paper tickets, but Easycard allows a lot of flexibility and allows for other purchases. I took the Red line all the way north and used the light rail to the sea coast. Stations have signs and announcements in English and platform doors direct you to doors for fast boarding. Lines are colour-coded and stations are numbered, in case you cannot remember names. There is no eating or drinking on the Metro, so it is very clean. The Taoyuan Airport Metro line is quick and costs 150NTD, but the airport is a long way out. There are Priority Seats for elderly, disabled, or pregnant.

    Efficient, convenient, cheap and punctual
Taipei subway offers excellent service. Efficient, cheap, convenient and punctual. The red line may be useful for tourists since many tourists sites along with. The color codes are easy to understand the route, too. Easy card is recommended for transport, you can use it for payment in convenient store.

    In short, stress free travel
I was hugely impressed by this capital city metro system. I used the metro a number of times. Each time I was sitting on the train I was observing everything around me trying to think of something that they should have/failed to address. Each time I came up with norhing. All the metro stations provide all the information you could possibly need to travel from one station to the next. This would have to be one of the most stress free metro systems I have ever used.

    World class transport system
We used the metro extensively while staying in Taipei as it made traveling between attractions a much more efficient use of time. Used an Easycard as it is much easier than buying tickets and later in our trip we used these extensively on buses all around Taiwan. Purchased the cards on arrival at the first metro station after departing the airport. All the trains are ultra clean, no eating or drinking allowed and signage/schedule of train arrivals is excellent.

    Efficient and cheap
Overall this is an efficient and fast system. We bought the 1 day pass one day as we were travelling all over and then used our old Easycard the other day. This was still valid after 5 years! Easy to use and all lines are colour coded. Just bear in mind that the Taoyuan MRT line is totally separate.

Like a lot of the reviews suggest, this is so easy and efficient to use. Simple, clearly signposted, easy to navigate, cheap, efficient, clean and convenient to get around the city. Very safe. Some stations have WIFI. Stations are generally big so check which exit you need. The 'ticket' is like a coin token which is easy to loose so keep it safe. Have small change to purchase tickets. The automated machines are very easy to use and display a number of languages. I am from London originally and getting on a train means pushing and chaos. Here, lines are orderly, wait your turn, don't talk loudly and you can't eat or drink. Explains why it is so clean! Dowload the TAIPEI METRO MRT TRAVEL GUIDE on the Google Play Store which is helpful. To connect to the HSR or Airport, use Taipei Main Station.

Great system. Very efficient, cheap, clean. Gets very crowded at times. My wife and I used it to get around quickly and cheaply.
