This trail is fun and exciting as you will pass on a suspension bridge that will not take more than 8 people at a time. So you will need to queue up and wait for some time for your turn on the rope bridge. At all times on the bridge, ensure that there are no more than 8 people on it.. on the bridge you can enjoy views on both sides all the while trying to balance yourself.. haha, fun exciting experience for sure ! The views of Liwu river below on either side are beautiful with clear water and rock formations.

Taroko National Park is a mecca for hikers who love mountain scenery, plus a bit of a challenge. The forest hosts monkeys, which are common, and even black bears. Please be cautious, these are wild animals, and never, ever feed them -- processed food is harmful to their digestion. By the way, there is a rope suspension bridge on the trail, which has limited capacity. Please take note of the advisory signs. The bridge has a great view, just don't linger.

The trail starts out very ho-hum and crosses an overly-warning signed small bridge before a tunnel (bring your own light) and the mighty cliff-side path section. Great views down to the road and the gorge from here and generally a pleasant walk.

This one hour hiking trail offers a nice view of the gorge. It snakes through the side of a steep cliff (with railings) and features a short hanging bridge, a short tunnel (it is not lighted so turn on your cellphone torch). Make sure you are wearing comfortable hiking / walking shoes because the trail has uneven rocks on some parts.

Length of Lushui Trail is about 2km and we took about an hour to complete the walk on the level trail. We entered the trail from the Heliu Campground area and emerged from the trail a few km down the road. On the way we walked on a short suspension bridge and went through a 30 m unlit tunnel that added some excitement to the walk.

As at 5 Feb 2020 the trail was closed as a through trail because of a rockfall. Check on its status before going. In the meantime each end is open for a limited distance: 500 meters from Lushui, 1 km from Heliu.

There are better and more beautiful trails in Taroko. This is easy and really flat with really not much to explore. Rather get close to nature with other trails in Taroko National Park.

A relatively short hike along a cliff and through a tunnel right off the main road. Recommend out and back, but can walk along road to starting point (very busy, narrow road)

This was the last trail we visited and were quite exhausted by that time. Luckily this was a short one and we didn't go till the end. Interesting but much simpler. Doesn't have spectacular views like the other trails.

It's an easy trail and I love the dark dark tunnel. Not too long, but long enough to make it exciting.
We didn't finish the trail because I needed to walk back to catch my bus. I checked from Google maps, it was good enough if I made a U Turn after I see the river below, the trail after the river view was pretty much the same with just trees.
There's a mountaineering office at the the starting point, which also doubles up as a Geological museum. We kept our heavy backpacks at the office before we walked on the trail.
