- luxuryvoyageSwitzerland4,019 contributionsa must do in TaipeiA MUST in Taipei. It is worth to buy the ticket online in advance and book the fast lane, because the crowd is usually very large. Once at the top, you have seen the view from all windows in just under 30 minutes. What is fun, however, are the numerous picture points, which are decorated from romantic to kitschy and are very popular with visitors. A tour of the technology that ensures the stability of the tower is worthwhile and worth seeing. This is also located at the top of the platform.Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 23 October 2023
- Abovetheclouds2,218 contributionsNice upmarket mall. Clean and easy to navigate. Food Court too and the Observatory is a must.More upmarket shopping and designer names like Cartier and GUCCI. There are High Street brands too like ZARA. Very clean and easy to navigate. Complimentary free WIFI. There is a Food Court at the bottom and a supermarket which stocks International brands too. Definitely recommend. I went a few times as it was near my hotel. Visit the Observatory on floor 5f. This is the tallest skyscraper in Taiwan. Views were stunning at night.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 27 October 2023

The shops here include first class shops such as Gucci, but also Rolex, Omega, Panerai, Longines. We spent plenty time at Lululemon where the girls were happiest.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 28 November 2023

These days, it's one of the world's tallest observation points. The elevator will get you to the observation point in a matter of minutes. The Mall is a center for luxury shopping at lower levels. Taipei 101 is a magnet for visitors. You can see all of Taipei from this outlook.Visited September 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 3 December 2023
- WorldTravelerColumbus, Ohio373 contributionsAmazing building!Absolutely beautiful and amazing building! If you get a chance to go to the top, you need to do it to see the beautiful city of Taipei. The bottom 5-6 floors are a very high end mall with the top name brand shops. Food court has lots of options, but it very busy.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 10 January 2024
- armani123sgSingapore, Singapore322 contributionsDint waste money on the extra for 101fWe chose to pay extra to visit the 101F but it didnt feel much of a difference. It cost nt600 to come to 89f and additional nt380 to come to 101f. I feel that the nt3000 skyline 460 experience would definitely be a better expenditure although i personally didnt try it. So dont bother paying for 101f, but just stick to the basic ticket at nt600 or choose the best experience at nt3000. I only gave it 3 out of 5 because i kind of felt cheated paying to go to 101f. The experience at 101f was honestly worse than just the 89f. You cant actually see out better at 101f than 89f so why am i paying more? If they advertised clearly what we are paying more for, i would have rated it higher. So yes, do not waste money to go to 101f.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 January 2024

In the first five floors of the Taipei 101 are all name brand shops and businesses. If you are looking for affordable kind of shopping you have to look behind after Taipei 101 and go to Breeze Square.Visited February 2024Travelled soloWritten 6 February 2024
- Escape194087342291 contributionTaiwan - TaipeiI went to Taiwan in December 2023. We engaged a private driver to fetch us around when we were there. Our driver Mr. Pan Ping Zhong very friendly and cheerful person. He brought to visit many beautiful places in Taipei. Through his introduction and detailed explaination we got to know a lot more about Taiwan. We had a great time with him as our personal driver. I would gladly have him as my private driver the next time I visit Taiwan. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a private driver when in Taiwan.Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 14 February 2024

The visit to Building 101 was part of a day in Taipei starting in Keelung Port. The train from Keelung to Taipei Central station took 45 minutes and cost £1.10 each way. Finding the correct platform at each end was simple. Building 101 was impressive and the Tuned Mass Damper on internal display was really interesting. The videos of the way in which this 600+ ton metal egg moved in weather that shock the building were spectacular. Views from the observation deck showed the density of the city but also the beauty of the surrounding hills. The remainder of the building included many expensive shops and restaurants. There was also a good supermarket and food hall.

The Taipei 101 is the icone of Taipei and some would say of all Taiwan. As such visiting Taipei and not seeing it would be like going to Paris and skip the Eiffel tower.
As you can imagine the place can get quite busy and it is rather expensive. We paid 640 TND per person ( if I remember well) for a pass granting us access to the 88th, 89 th and 91th floor. If you want to get to the skyline you will have to pay double this.
The 89th floor was in my opinion the best. You have a 360° view of Taipei and the surrounding areas, a small café, a souvenir shop and some gadgets things you can take photos of you with.

If Paris's landmark is the Eiffel Tower, then Taipei's must be 101 Tower.
And if you, like us, don't need to see the city from above but want some great photo memories, Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park is a brilliant place to take them.
At the same time, you get to see what one of the nation's fathers looked like - captured in a serious statue.

If you have not been on the high-floor observation deck, this might be a good place to visit. You can see the Taipei city from the 89th floor. the best time for visit should be at the sunset. you can see both day and night scenes. Also, there are lots of picture-taking stations on the 89th floor. Just make sure that you must purchase the ticket in the advance to go on at the sunset. Limited tickets available at each time slots.

The distinctive square-base skyscraper either resembles a giant pagoda or a massive stack of packing boxes, depending on your imagination or romantic leanings. The lower floors are a shopping mall, but what most foreign visitors come for is the elevator on the 5th floor, which will whisk you up to the 89th-floor observation deck (and outdoor terrace on the 91st floor) for a spectacular 360-degree panoramic view across the city from a quarter-mile above street level.

A very tall building with many and mostly high end stores. Many window shoppers there. Food on the basement floor. Observatory on the highest floor.
Do visit if in Taipei. We spent 30min going around. Not much to see.

The most greatest building I’ve never seen before ~it’s awesome. There are at least 100 floors in the building, and many restaurants are located in Taipei 101. It’s a nice choice to have dinner with couples hereee

We had a good lunch at Din Tai Fung and did some shopping here. They had good items on sale in Nike, but prices in Nike Ximending are even lower. Bought shoes at Charles and Keith where prices are much lower (about half) compared to Dubai!

Which ticket should I buy? Is the fast track ticket worth it over the standard ticket?

For the Combo Ticket (Taipei 101 + National Palace Museum), do I have to wait in the line to buy tickets or is there a separate window to buy Combo Tickets? Do I need to visit both attractions on the same day or on consecutive days?
Written 19 October 2019
You can't buy these tickets together. They are separate attractions in different parts of the city

How long can you stay in the observatory? I'm planning to stay from 4 pm to 7pm so I can get shots of both day time and night time views of the city.
