Lots of designer shops, expensive. Also saw a few workshops, leather bag making, flass blowing, etc. Nice to walk around. There's a giant bookstore as well kf you're looking for a new book to read!

Urban escapism just a 10-minute walk from Taipei’s central business district (Taipei City Hall). Enjoy a breeze while sitting by the park’s ecological pond before you explore Taiwan’s art & craft scene at Eslite Spectrum Songyan which, apart from eclectic shopping well-geared towards tourists, offers an international art film cinema at basement level, along with a small art gallery. Heading back outdoors, don’t skip the park’s Baroque Garden, which is the central courtyard of the old Japanese tobacco factory. You can easily spend a romantic hour by the fountain, ice cream in hand. Here you’ll have an enchanted view of the newest skyscrapers Taipei has to offer. See if you can discern a Norman Foster building from this vantage point.

You can feel the love and good taste of the Taiwanese people towards Japan. The building was renovated from a tobacco factory during the Japanese colonial period, and it is an impressive spot where art and culture come together. Next door, Taiwan's first dome stadium is currently being built.

The 2nd floor of the mall in this park offers several DIY creative/art-related workshops (e.g. glass blowing, jewellery making, leather-pouch making, calligraphy, painting etc). We booked a glass-blowing workshop (30 min each) and absolutely loved it!! Imagine sculpting glass with a furnace of more than 1000 ℃ within an air-conditioned shopping mall. It's interesting how glass looks like plasticine after being heated in such high temperature and can be sculpted into all kinds of shapes. Best to book in advance. The end product would need time to be cooled and can only be collected on the next day.
We also enjoyed the rest of the mall and the park tremendously. The entire area has a great creative vibe and definitely a must-visit for art/craft lovers.

Highly recommend!! Great unique shops, interesting things happening.. Beautiful scenery.
I walked here from a restaurant in da’an which took about 30 mins. They have performance art here as well as a seasonal exhibition.

Wonderful place to wander, be inspired and find a spot to read, think, work or be creative.
I found a great bookshop / cafe which provided the ideal workplace for the morning (but be aware many places are closed on Wednesday)

The Songshan Cultural and creative park is a place to get fresh inspirations and break the regular mundane city life. It offers unique ideas, quirky designs and gives a sense of hope for the future.
A converted tobacco factory now houses several aspiring designers’ works and artists’ impressions. There was also an ongoing event when I was there on sustainable environmental products.
Besides the galleries, and the chic Songyan cafe that serve very light cheesecake, the area also houses rich greenery and even urban farming. May this place continues to provide many more inspirations to others in formulating innovative and insightful ideas!

Just a remodeled warehouse that sells overpriced (by Asian standard) handmade goods. There are some well-maintained parks within the area, with plenty of green space for kids to roam around. Probably only worth visiting if you are there for Eslite Lifestyle Store and Chun Shui Tang (the pioneer and "inventor" of Boba tea).

The setting is a beautiful, serene garden around a large pond. The old refurbished buildings are charming, especially the one around a courtyard. Shopping the artisans' work made for a different shopping experience - - getting to chat with the artists and able to purchase original design. Charming ! And, don't miss the gorgeous cafe on the premises !

its right next to the Eslite hotel. We went there during a design show but even without any exhibition, this place is definitely a must see. Use to be some kind of factory and the building are well renovated. Great coffee in the back next to the Taiwan Design Museum.

What metro station is the closest to?
Written 6 December 2015
Sorry... my answer is a little late for you maybe... every time when I go there, I will take off from the City Hall station and walk to there, I think this route is easier.
