I found this museum a little underwhelming despite the hype. The building is interesting and the view from the window is impressive. The exhibits are a little ho-hum. Not enough English descriptions and not interactive enough.

The museum is a modern building with unusual architectural features. Inside there are permanent and temporary exhibitions showing the natural and human history of Yilan.

The exhibition is well-designed and quite impressive. The legend of Count de Benyowsky is of most interest to me. Maurice Benyowsky (1746-1786 AD) was a well-known adventurer and writer of the Kingdom of Hungary (present Slovakia). In 1771, he landed on the coast of Yilan and stayed for over ten days.

The museum itself is an artwork. It is a must for architecture and design lovers.

We went there just to take picture of the architecture. It was a hot day so we didn't spend a lot of time there, not even entering the museum. Its a miss for us.

This was the first place we visited in Yilan. It is not a huge museum but the design and setting is so special. It is certainly a place wehre you can take a lot of nice photos. We were there on Sunday but not extremely busy. It is a great pity that we did not have enough time to go through exhibition halls. I know it tells the history and culture of Yilan. This will be the programme for our next visit!

Nice building and interesting indoor and outdoor attractions. Easy to access and a number of restaurants around. If you visit the museum and should not miss the Mr. Brown castle 1 KM away you can have a very nice view of Pacific Ocean

The museum was beautifully situated next to the fishing port with lots of glass windows for natural lighting.
A comprehensive and detailed introduction to the natural environment, history and livelihood of the people of Yilan.

The museum has a lot of really interesting exhibits about each region around Yilan where you can learn about the history of each community, animals in the region, cultivation, fishing and domestication just to name a few sections of the museum. If you're interested in geography they also have some very interesting pieces on the volcanic activity, hot springs, cold springs and mountains which was a neat experience too. Overall a very nice museum where you can spend a few hours.

Due to time restraint, we were only able to spend a short period of time taking pictures outside but we had fun nonetheless! The building itself was unique with a beautiful lake in front of it.
