The enchanting Tamsui Old Street boasts the most beautiful Fisherman’s Wharf sunset of Taiwan. There are also well-complimented delectable snacks such as Ah Gei (bean curd) and fish ball, etc. On Bali left bank, there is the Ferry Old Street and Wazihwei Nature Reserve. It is relaxing and comfortable whether by strolling or cruising through on a bike. Besides the bustling business district, Tamsui is also full of an old vintage flavor. From western architectural relics to residences dating back to Japanese rule, each with their respective features and great stories to tell. If you visit Tamsui in spring, the magnificent cherry blossoms of Tianyuan Palace are a must see. If you wish for further intimacy with nature, why not camp out for the night under the starry sky. The Bali culture park camping site offers round, transparent bubble tents. Experience the close, seamless connection to surrounding nature from within for an unforgettable memory.

Watch a beautiful sunset and stroll casually along a nice boardwalk. Stop by for a coffee or finish off with a dinner at indoors or outdoors restaurant. Easiest to get there by metro, it’s the final stop on the Red and connect to the Yellow Light Rail final stop

A nice wharf for tourist. Great view of the river and ocean. Lots of picture opportunities on the lovers bridge. Can get pretty hot in the day time.

My wife and I went to Tamsui as a break from the city. After exploring the old street, we took the ferry to this fisherman's wharf as the reviews were generally positive. We soon discovered that aside from the bridge, there is absolutely nothing to do here. We crossed the bridge to the only other structure on the other side, which houses a seafood restaurant. The restaurant, however, only opens at 5 p.m., and the last ferry back to Tamsui departs at 6 p.m. So we just headed back.

We were here in January, so perhaps things are different in the warmer months. Otherwise, save your MRT fare and don't bother taking the ferry.

Parts of the walking path along the coastline closed for renovation.
Alternative pathways available for cycling and walking, but view cannot be seen.
Signs present to direct you in the right direction

Walked ~2 hours to the Lovers' bridge
Should have gotten a bicycle at the start
Alternative: Take a bus from the start to the Lovers' bridge

Nice walk if the weather is cool

Nobody can deny, that staying at a hotel overlooking a harbor with beautiful yachts parked at the docks is simply a therapeutic experience. This is true of all similar harbors in Singapore's Quayside Isle, Taipei's Fisherman's Wharf and even Malaysia's Puteri Harbor. Love waking up to the relaxing feels of watching the boats go by, admiring beautiful yachts, and the general spaciousness such places provide.

If you're here for a short visit - that's mostly what this place provides - a simple place to unwind. Sure, you can also enjoy seafood dinner here overlooking the harbor, but there are only a few options due to the current building of the new metro/ LRT station for Fisherman's wharf, causing many of the previous seafood restaurants on this stretch to be relocated. Lover's Bridge near the harbor is also a famous Tamsui attraction - but mainly just for photo-taking since there's not much on the other side of the bridge. The mall, 丽宝渔人码头广场, facing the wharf and attached to Fullon Hotel looked rather vacant and deserted, with almost no staff in sight, though I must commend the hotel for keeping this mall going with at least some kiddy rides and touristy shopping so there's at least Something to see and do while we waited for our hotel room to be ready. There is also a convenient mart facing the wharf for you to get drinks or for a short rest.

Overall, you'll love it if you want tranquility and beautiful scenery for most of your holiday. The life of the town is probably over at Tamsui Old Street, a short 10 minutes cab ride away.

Great view of the sunset! A few shops selling food and drinks as well and a small collection of childrens, arcade and claw machine games. Free to enter, some bars/restaurants have live music. Can even sit on the waterbreaker to watch the sunset as the waterfront gets crowded real early. Bridge lights up at night!

Tamshui Fishermen's Wharf is really scenic with its abundance of boats and yachts; Fullton Hotel is nearby as well as the Subway outlet. The Lover's Bridge is the must visit and highly popular with young visitors and tourists. The sunset view as well as the night lights make this a really stunning place to capture vacation memories in photographs

Took a boat ride from Tamshui station (cost NT$60) which I highly recommend over the public bus. Was told it is a good place to watch the sunset but it was really cloudy and gloomy when we visited it. I think during the earlier parts of the year should be fine.

Apart from the bridge, there really isn't much to do. There is a souvenir shop on the other side of the bridge and a pitstop place where you can get some coffee or food. There a couple of seafood restaurant around the area but I would recommend heading back to the Old Street to find food.

This area is quite scenic. The iconic Lover's Bridge is nice, very popular for nice pictures on the bridge. There are plenty of shops and eateries along the wharf. Great place for a relaxing outing.
