The Mofan Street host the main business and family homes in the Jincheng Township.
It is a great place to stroll around and enjoy the many small and family owned and run shops. It has a Wet or Street Market that sells the fresh fish, meat, fruits and vegetables in the morning. There are also many eateries and one of the best is the Liang Jin Farm Beef Noodle Shop and the famous Oyster Mee Sau eateries.
We enjoyed the Liang Jin Farm Beef Noodle but was disappointed at the Oyster Mee Sau eatery. The owners, husband and wife were rude and unfriendly (most unusual), as they insisted that we must order a bowl of oyster mee sau for each person and they would not help us place the order, despite our telling them that we could not read nor write Chinese! We eventually walked off the shop!
We were not deterred by the unusual incident but continued to enjoy the many old and traditional shops that sell lots of traditional biscuits and other goodies. A must place to enjoy a tour if one is in the Jinchen Township.

This street (aka Kinmen Old Street) is known to have the ROC Taiwan national flags on one side and the other side has th3 China 5 stars national flag. Due to Taiwan Double ten National Holiday, all flags have been the Taiwan RIC flags since last week. The street is about 75 meters long with special architecture and very popular for tourists.

Mofan Street was a bit more atmospheric than most streets in Kinmen with shops being housed in an old Western style building and was blocked off to motor traffic.

A short but well preserved street with historic buildings of a combination of Japanese, Fujian and Western architecture. Mofan Street literally means 'Model' Street, which now consists of a couple of souvenir stores and restaurants.

It only takes you 10 mins to walk along the street and have a few photos, but one more thing I would recommend you to do is to try a Taiwanese dessert restaurant there that offers desserts of a mixed tofu custard, taro ball, Chinese mesona, peanuts, etc. It's pretty good.

Its a nice short street with some small shops and restaurants. Its nothing exciting (and there isnt anything really exciting on Kinmen Island in my opinion), but its definitely worth while walking thrue it at least once. From 4pm onwards it should be a pedestrian street, but sadly a lot of mofa drivers ignore that :-(.

Mofan Street (模范街) is a very short street which show you the older days the houses, market, shop, etc. of Kinmen, not many shops. Now you also can find fresh market stalls at this area. If you don't pay attention, you may just walk past and not realising its existence.

Mofan Street is a tourist trap. It's apparent that large tour groups come here. Souvenirs are in the format of food (gift wrapped or not), medicines, ointments (very Asian like). Some peddlers here are more enterprising than the others. It's such a short street though. You could potentially finish off the whole street in less than five minutes. Been there, done that experience.

This is just maybe a 100metre street with some eateries and some shops. Nothing much worth stopping for. Nothing special that you can get from here too. The egg roll from the first stall is quite nice though...

This street is supposedly the main trading street of Old Kinmen. It is lined with trading houses and shops. Apart from the traditional houses, there is nothing bustling about the street, except for a few eateries and restaurants. The street is at walking distance from the city bus station. Worth a visit if you like nostalgic old town.
