Great public hot spring bath. Very very hot, intermediate hot and cold plunge. Nice setting. Beware: men are only allowed to use actual swimwear, meaning thigh length tight fit. Gym shorts (baggy around thigh) will not be allowed. They sell shorts for NT290. Wife wore a two pice bikini (not thong) no problem.

The Millennium Hot Springs are hot; they a public bath. The hot springs cater mainly to locals, elderly old men. Give it a miss if you don't like being shoulder-to-shoulder with old people, most of whom are not attractive. Most of them are friendly, and give free advice. By the way, you must have bathers; you can buy ham at the pool.

I didn’t expect much after reading all the reviews here, but after my sister insisted, we went for Millennium Hot Springs. It’s easy to find, just follow the instructions on the signboard. It’s our first time to a hot spring.
Do remember to bring your swimsuit because women’s swimsuit starts from NT 390 at the entrance. We walked further uphill and managed to find a boutique selling a decent bikini for NT 290. Bikinis are allowed, but everyone will stare at you, especially older men. The crowd mostly consists of the elderly.
Facilities are decent, ticket prices are NT 40 per head. We went in during the 10:30am slot on a Saturday, and the water was quite dirty (you can see dirt floating in the water, the floor is grimy). Lockers are available for rent and cost NT 20. Showers are rented at NT 20 for 4 minutes. Hair dryers need to be rented as well. There are 3 pools varying in temperature. We didn’t stay for more than 20 minutes in total as the temperature was hot and we were getting light headed.
All in all, I’m glad we did it instead of paying for a far more expensive hot spring in a private resort. It was an interesting experience.

On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, I went to Senbata Onsen with a Japanese friend. He was stopped at the entrance by a male and female caretaker and said he wanted to see if there was a swimsuit. I took out my bathing suit and showed it to them, but they told me it didn't fit their rules and wouldn't let me in. I asked them why my swimsuits didn't fit the code, and they said it was because my swimsuits were loose and different from their so-called standard box types. When I asked them why they weren't allowed to be all swimsuits (even though their so-called standard types were obviously more revealing), they said rudely that they didn't know if the swimsuits you brought yourself were clean. It was the trip to the hot springs I was expecting, but I was disappointed. I was surprised how rude and rude customer service still exists. Naturally, I would never go to a place like this again. The only way to do this online is to give it the lowest rating of 1, but the actual rating is minus 5.

As other reviewers have already stated, this place is incredibly poorly run. The staff(especially the woman at the gate) are rude and have a disgusting attitude towards visitors who they are simply trying to squeeze money from in the most blatant way possible. The springs are dirty and poorly maintained and you will regret coming here. Go anywhere but here...

Extremely rude staff. Went there in a group, the lady at the counter insisted on checking all our swimwear. She even claimed that some of our swimwear was not actually swimwear (probably so we would buy their swimwear and add to their revenue) when in actual fact it was obviously swimwear.
We decided to visit in batches to avoid buying swimwear. When the 2nd group of us went in, they refused to let us in, claiming it was closed when in actual fact there was still about 10 minutes to the closing time of the first batch.
Would never come here again.

My son and I wanted to go to the Hot Springs in Beitou. I wanted one that I could wear a bathing suit (not wanting to go in my birthday suit). We walked up the road from the train station and the first one that we came to was the Millenium. We didn't know what it actually said since it was in Chinese but it looked like it required swim suits. So we went there. My son had board shorts but it was not acceptable so we had to buy him some swim wear that was for about $8. We enjoyed our stay there. There were 2 cold baths and 4 hot ones. The hottest one was, I think, about 47C. I stood in it a few seconds and had to get out. We would jump back and forth to the different ones. The fee was 40TWD. So inexpensive. You could rent a locker but most people just put their belongings in one without paying for the lock.

We went for a dip to try the hot spring and left within half an hour. It was so crowded! Crowded with many elderlies and we have no space to sit. We just squat in the middle of the pool.
They will check your swimming costumes and trunks before entry. NT20 for hot shower.
We felt itchy while in the hot spring. Maybe we are not used to it. I think pay more to go to a better hot spring. However, with the price we pay, we should not complain much.

The not-really pleasant counter staff are pretty strict about the dress code. Strictly swim wear only. They will feel the texture of your swim wear before they let you in. Otherwise, you will have to purchase one from the vendors. The springs are okay I guess. Doesn't seem like they maintain it well. Water doesn't seem clean either. Spent a measly 30 mins here. Much better hot springs around.

We checked the dress requirements first and realised we needed to buy a pair of men's trunks from the shop there (NT$300). Plenty of sizes available - women behind counter very helpful. Went back later, bought tickets from a machine, had our swimwear checked on entering, staff nice and friendly to us. The lockers are mainly used but left unlocked, and there are shower cubicles for changing, if you like. Take $10 coins if you want hot showers or to use hairdryers or to lock lockers. We went into the coolest of the hot pools, with most of the other non-locals, which was a very comfortable temperature. The upper, hotter pools were mainly full of old men. We stayed in the water about 20 minutes, which was plenty of time to keep me warm for a couple of hours afterwards.
The people who are leaving bad reviews must have had extremely high expectations for a low-cost public facility. It's no more or less dirty/inconvenient than a public swimming pool anywhere in the world. I thought it was great value and will be returning today 😁
