This is a very famous religious place in HP and lakhs of people visit this shrine every month. During festivals like Navratri & Sawan month, footfall is much more. Temple organisers have made elaborate arrangements for trouble-free darshan. Though this temple falls in the Bilaspur district of HP, however, this is near Shri Anandpur Sahib, another religious place of Shikhs. The connectivity is good to reach Shri Naina Devi through Shri Anandpur Sahib. There is a direct Vande Bharat train from New Delhi and regular buses from all over Punjab & other states. One can get a shared cab from Shri Anandpur Sahib to the temple. There is a bus service as well.
Jai Mata Di 🙏

Your wishes will be fulfilled here. But try not to stay at place near Naina Devi temple as rooms are not so cleaned and you will not find good food outlets there. Instead stay at Shri Anandpur Sahib which is only 10-12 Kms from there and you will find good rooms and good food over there

Mandir is good but too many stairs. I boarded bus from Chintpurni Mandir via Una- Nangal Dam- Naina devi. First of all No direct bus is from Una to Naina Devi. Some buses have written on board Una- Naina devi but they stop at Nangal Dam from Nangal Dam, buses has no time schedule. No rule and regulaton is there for arrival and departure of bus. Sole decision depends on bus driver. When bus is fully loaded then only they depart the bus. They are not concerned with passanger sitting in the bus. After so many tough time I reached at Naina Devi Bus stand.Ropeway is one Km before bus stand but no instruction are there on either side of road for direction of Ropeway. Even driver or conductor never inform passanger for ropeway. From Bus stand one way to Naina devi Mandir has 300 steps. On another way Taxi owner has captured and decided price for one way Rs. 240/- and up and down Rs. 500/- and even they never inform passanger that after they drop at mandir, mandir has 160 stairs more to go ahead for darshan at mandir which is wrong. Moreover Ropeway also charges Rs. 190/- for up and down and they also drop at the point from where yatri has to step 160 stairs. What is the use of ropeway when one has to step so many stairs which is very difficult for elderly, handicap or sick person. Moreover, near ropeway there is no bus stand from where one can board bus to Anandpur Sahib or nangal dam. One has to take taxi for bus stand. Overall experience is ok.

We visited on June 20th and reached the base before 8 am. Since ropeway operates 8 am onward, our taxi driver [Jagdeep Singh] voluntarily took us uphill in the car. Not only we saved on ropeway fare but also enjoyed scenic beauty and thrill of curves going uphill. We started trekking on a rough route with 4-5 steps, dusty man-made path and reached the main street to temple. After walking 60-70 meters, we opted to go by the shorter route that consists of steps. Very well-done, easily doable and clean red sandstone steps. Numerous prasad shops and little eateries line on both sides of the steps. Leave your shoes, buy or not buy prasad, upto you. One can drop shoes in open too. But these shops are reliable for stuff and food they serve.

Total steps right from trekking till one enters the temple complex is 150 or less.

Being a weekday and early morning, there was NO QUEUE at all. We had peaceful darshan, explored the temple complex and enjoyed the landscape. Thanks to Himachal Home Guard who do a wonderful job. They were polite and helpful. No greedy priests. Goddess Naina Devi temple is simple, clean and it is all about faith of the devotees. Monkeys were not to be seen. We trekked back

Time spent at the temple would depend on season and day of the week. In most Hindu shrines, covering your head is not a mandate. But many people do it out of faith and preaching. Some people use the palki - a thick wooden stick with suspended low height stool (wide and wired). There are no side supports to protect the rider The guys carrying this wooden stick on their shoulders balance you safely.
