The aesthetics of the exhibits are outstanding but their organization is often confusing and the Porglish that tries to pass for English is totally sub-par and often hard to understand. Still, I enjoyed the place. But the guided group tour of some rock art by...More

Not surprised it has a Certificate of Excellence. This museum, high up on a hill, takes you back in time to some 30,000 years ago. Replica drawings can be seen (originals in the National Museum). A guide is essential to get the best from your...More

Just the most exciting place to visit. Link it to a tour of the actual carvings, available nearby from Castelo Melhor. Bookings are required. Only some tours are in English, but the Museum has guides in English language which are easy to use. The exhibits...More

Admittedly art carved in rock is not everyone’s taste. But what has been done in this region is amazing. They managed to stop a huge energy company flooding what has undoubtedly become one of the worlds centers for Paleolithic engravings. The museum itself is located...More

But not as much as the visit to the archeological park. But not bad second choice for folks with mobility issues. Modern gallery less useful but.... Ok small gift shop. Excellent coffee.

Thanks for your message. As we only operate visita to the Park and Museum, we would recomend talking to a travel agency for details on a day trip to the Park. We believe these are available by train, boat or rented car.
