Placed in the former(old) abbey Benedictine of the XIth century at the heart of the historic center of Meymac, the Museum, the place of discovery and knowledge, establish(constitute) a fascinating introduction in the history(story) of the Tray(Plateau) of Millevaches and his(her) inhabitants, times(weathers) were the most moved(put) the back in our days. A route(course) on three levels, will allow you to discover this territory by admiring, among others: funeral furniture (medieval sarcophaguses and funeral safes(chests) Gallo-Roman), palaeolithic and Neolithic tools (double-sided, polished axes), objects of the Gallo-Roman site of Coaches and video in 3D of monuments, but also testimonies of the local rural life of the environment(middle) of the XIXth at the end of the XXth century (tools, utensils, toys, musical instruments, furniture, clothes, reconstruction of the inside of a farm...). Didactic panels(signs) at various levels of reading, interactive terminals, videos, complete objects of exposition and propose questionings on the future and the dynamics of this territory. Within the framework of the valuation of the territory, the Association " Fondation Marius Vazeilles " proposes all year round diverse activities to discover this territory and its wealth: taken(brought) out, exhibitions(exposures), conferences, tales, studios(workshops)....
