A starkly simple Cistercian abbey that is just beautiful. The setting is peaceful and the abbey blends into the countryside. Inside you see the outstanding stonework and marvellous proportions of the construction done during the 12C! The Cistercian order of St Benedict adhered to the...More

Very quiet place (we were here in high season around lunch time, only 6-7 other people around) that respires atmosphere of an antique, religeous place.

Silvacane Abbey is one of the three Cistercian abbeys in Provence, called 'the three sisters of Province'. The others being Sénanque Abbey and Le Thoronet Abbey. Although perhaps not in such an idyllic location as Sénanque Abbey, Silvacane is nonetheless a beautiful complex of buildings...More

This place deserves a visit. A beautiful and peaceful abbey near Aix-en-Provence, with a nice green area in front of it. It's a short and pleasent visit.
