Decent walk, not too long, pretty flat. Unfortunately, not much left to see. Few old buildings' foundations in the bush, some walls, but otherwise nothing overly exciting. Worth a stroll if you're at the campground and have a couple of hours to spare.

The Bush is slowly reclaiming the site , which makes at interesting contrast . easy walking conditions with good paths and industrial relics dotted around this quiet valley . It was an enjoyable wander about .

We spent a very pleasant couple of hours wandering around the ruins trying to imagine the lives of the people that would have worked here over a hundred years ago; “a tough, wild lifestyle” came to mind.
It is a fascinating site covered with old kilns, pipelines, an old railway and many brick relics of a bygone age and industry. The path could be a little better sign-posted and some more information signs would enhance the experience but we still enjoyed our time here.

A great showcase of the local industrialisation of the area from over a hundred years ago and the quality of workmanship that some of the long abandoned buildings and site are still standing and with care and maintenance should stand for a long time to come.
Walk the site and try to envision the the resilence of the workers who inhabited the area during the peak and the scale of what was built during those times. Yes the track and signage could do with some refreshing but from a historical perspective I found the walk and site to be fascinating and spent more than 3 hours walking around.

This walk gives a nice wander through some of the industrial ruins in the Wolgan Valley. It's interesting to see the old mine shafts, brick steps going to nowhere and other rusty bits and box about the place. The signage is getting a bit worn and faded, so it'd be good to update it. Complement this with a visit to the old Newnes Pub down the road, which has picture books and other memorabilia of the area. There are also ruins on the other side of the river along the pipeline track. That too is worth a visit.
