This is a very strange looking church but also very interesting and unique. There are beautiful mosaics on the floor and wonderful paintings on the walls and ceiling. It is made of different types of stone. There are a couple of narrow passage ways that lead back to the main section of the church. Well worth a visit.

Worth a visit to see how very strange the architecture is. You have to see it to understand why. Would definitely recommend a visit here.

This arresting building catches the eye as you drive along the road to Mantineia. It is an amalgam of various styles from the Byzantine to the Aztec. Certainly worth a look if you have the time and enjoy architecture taken to one end of the scale :). There is nothing ancient about it.

Very eye catching church whilst driving past and seeing an ancient relic sign board. Still don't know what is ancient about it, but I've read it could have been a temple. Nethertheless, the church has a unique ambience and features worth a quick visit.

I really loved this chyrch. Seem like an old temple but it was constructed in 1970. The combination of byzantine elements and rythms from ancient Greece is extraordinary. In the interior of the temple you can admire the mosaics of Perseus, Papadiamantis and others.
This church has provoce many critics either is a temple, an archaeological area nor a work of art! The answer is up to you!

Stopped by here yesterday and the church was open and the garden been attended to. Very impressive and a nice way to spend a few minutes walking around.

Inside the church, renovations had been completed and couldn't help but take photos.

I am not a great fan of Greek churches but this on is unique!

It looks on the outside like something from Alice in Wonderland as the church is made up from the nearby ancient ruins. However the temple parts can be clearly seen

It is the most amazing hotch potch of parts.

Inside in is lacking the normal gold and glitter and in fact to my Protestant upbringing quite Sparten by Greek standards.

It felt quite calming to sit in this holy space.

This little church is known for it's special architecture and it's a great place of interest someone can visit and it'situated just 10 minutes from tripoli with a car. During summer months it is often busy with baptisms and weddings. Nice place to take pictures and don't forget to take a look at the ancient theatre situated on the opposite side of the road. Just a 5 minute walk. !!

I had hoped to get entry to the building, unfortunately nobody was around and it was locked.
I did enjoy the exterior, as it's quite different. Disappointing that way, but not uncommon on our travels, either.
